Position Overview
This position is a solutions architect and lead technical authority for the State of Michigan Continuity Management Solution (MiCMS) tool, including managing the health for the database, communication component, storage, development, upgrades and security of the MiCMS tool. MiCMS is the tool SOM utilizes for Business Continuity Management within the Service Now platform.
Technical ResponsibilitiesThis position serves as the technical subject matter expert. This MiCMS application is a 3rd‑party software that is used by all State Agencies for Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery plan development. This subject matter expert is responsible for all user integration and management within the Service Now/MiCMS tool, maintaining healthy and effective relationships with system users, conducting correspondence related to work, and supporting all State Agencies' Disaster Recovery and Business Resumption stakeholders.

- Position Description
- The Department of Technology, Management and Budget supports the business operations of state agencies through a variety of services, including building management and maintenance, information technology, centralized contracting and procurement, budget and financial management, space planning and leasing, construction management, motor vehicle fleet operations, and oversight of the state retirement systems.
The office location is Lansing, MI. The State of Michigan is not able to offer employment to out-of-state applicants that do not plan to relocate. The Department of Technology Management and Budget currently offers a hybrid work option which requires two days working on-site at the official work location and three days of remote work per week.
Signing BonusThis position may be eligible for a sign‑on bonus up to $2,500: up to $1,250 to be paid upon new hire and the remainder after satisfactory completion of the initial probationary period (12‑month period). This does not apply to current state employees.

Possession of a bachelor's degree with at least 21 semester (32 term) credits in one or a combination of the following: computer science, data processing, computer information systems, data communications, networking, systems analysis, computer programming, information assurance, IT project management, or mathematics.
ExperienceInformation Technology Specialist 14
Three years of professional experience equivalent to an Information Technology Infrastructure or Programmer/Analyst P11 or one year equivalent to an Information Technology Infrastructure or Programmer/Analyst 12.
An associate's degree with 16 semester (24 term) credits in one or a combination of the following: computer science, data processing, computer information systems, data communications, networking, systems analysis, computer programming, mathematics or equivalent; and at least two years of experience as an application programmer, computer operator, or information technology technician and four years of professional experience equivalent to an Information Technology Infrastructure or Programmer/Analyst P11 or one year equivalent to an Information Technology Infrastructure or Programmer/Analyst 12.
OR
At least an educational level typically acquired through the completion of high school and at least three years of experience as an application programmer, computer operator, or information technology technician and four years of professional experience equivalent to an Information Technology Infrastructure or Programmer/Analyst P11 or one year equivalent to an Information Technology Infrastructure or Programmer/Analyst 12.
