Network Engineer - L2; Cisco Nexus

Job Summary

We are seeking a Network Engineer to provide Business-As-Usual (BAU) coverage and deliver network projects. This role involves managing day-to-day network operations, troubleshooting, implementing changes, and ensuring the stability and security of our infrastructure.

• Provide BAU coverage (typically 9:00 AM – 6:00 PM (GMT); extended coverage may be required as per vendor contract).
• Manage fault reporting and troubleshooting with vendors (e.g., ISP issues).
• Execute BAU change management processes.
• Perform out-of-hours changes when necessary.
• Conduct hardware and software patching.
• Deliver project implementations while balancing BAU priorities.

Must have hands-on experience with:

• Cisco Networking: Switching, routing, and firewalls.
  • Cisco Nexus core architecture (N9K & N3K).
  • Cisco FTD firewalls managed via FMC.
• Meraki Switching: Access layer deployment.
  • Used in VST and remote offices.

• VMware and Microsoft Azure.
• Netskope (advantageous but not essential).

• Strong real-world knowledge of Cisco and Meraki technologies; certifications (Cisco, Meraki) are highly preferable.
• Proven ability to manage and prioritise tasks independently.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
• Ability to act as a liaison between technical teams and the helpdesk, monitoring ticket progress and ensuring timely resolution.
• Confident in contributing to daily stand-ups and weekly planning calls.

• Self-motivated and capable of working independently.
• Strong organizational skills to manage own diary and workload.
• Effective communicator with the ability to explain technical concepts clearly.
