Overview

This pivotal role supports the operations and technical oversight of Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems within a complex healthcare environment. As a Technical SME, you will serve as a trusted advisor, providing in-depth analysis and expert guidance to ensure the optimal performance of EHR programs, policies, and technical processes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Act as a technical advisor and analyst for EHR operations, assisting with system integrations, maintenance, and optimization.
  • Collaborate with Site Technical Liaisons to plan, coordinate, and execute detailed technical analyses of EHR programs, policies, and procedures.
  • Conduct comprehensive reviews and evaluations of electronic health record systems, applying both qualitative and quantitative methods to assess performance.
  • Support enterprise-wide architectural planning, ensuring solutions align with organizational standards and security requirements.
  • Identify and specify necessary interfaces between new enterprise solutions and legacy IT systems.
  • Contribute to project planning, milestone tracking, and the development of technical business cases.
  • Provide expert recommendations for alternative solutions, considering technical feasibility and business impacts.
Minimum Qualifications
  • A minimum of 5+ years of professional experience in enterprise IT architecture or related fields.
  • Proven experience designing, planning, and overseeing deployment of large-scale, complex information architectures.
  • Expertise with hardware, software, operating systems, middleware, communication systems, and security components.
  • Strong understanding of open systems architecture standards and compliance requirements.
  • Experience identifying integration points between enterprise applications and legacy systems.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Engineering, Business, or a related field, OR an equivalent combination of education and extensive experience.
  • Demonstrated ability to support program and project planning, including milestone delivery.
  • Familiarity with business case analysis and assessing alternative solutions.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Prior experience working within the VA healthcare system is highly desirable.
  • Hands‑on experience implementing Electronic Health Record systems and related clinical IT solutions.
