Overview
Potential candidates must reside in the Silicon Valley area. The successful candidate will work from home and be dispatched to client sites in the Silicon Valley area to troubleshoot and resolve AV issues found in board rooms and conference rooms.
Responsibilities- Provide in-person troubleshooting of Audio Video (AV) systems in executive board rooms and conference centers.
- Interface with enterprise customers in a professional manner.
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues related to AV equipment and systems, including custom control systems (Crestron DM/NVX, AMX) and complex AV installations.
- Assess and troubleshoot AV brands and equipment such as Crestron, Extron, Biamp, QSC, Cisco, Poly, Logitech, Luxul, NETGEAR, Cisco switches, video walls (Planar, UNILUMEN, LG, Samsung, Barco), and video conferencing systems.
- Reverse engineer legacy AV systems and debug newly built systems.
- Research and specify replacement products; demonstrate intermediate to advanced AV networking skills; handle cabling and connectors (crimping and soldering).
- Maintain awareness of signal flow and low-voltage electrical concepts (e.g., Ohm’s law).
- Conduct preventative maintenance testing and site surveys related to service agreements; write concise service reports and site surveys.
- Manage multiple service projects and mentor junior/intermediate level field service techs.
- Minimum 7–8+ years of experience in AV integration and/or AV field service.
- Experience with major AV brands (Crestron and Biamp) and ability to troubleshoot Crestron systems; capable of researching and specifying replacement products.
- Ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex issues across the listed product areas and systems.
- Advanced knowledge of AV networking, signal flow, and low-voltage electrical concepts.
- Proficient customer interfacing and communication skills; strong verbal and written skills.
- Two-year diploma from a college or technical school, or equivalent experience; CTS certification highly preferred or equivalent experience.
- Must maintain a valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
- Physical requirements:
ability to stand, kneel, or crouch for long periods; ability to climb ladders and scaffolding; ability to lift in excess of 50 pounds.
A two-year diploma from a college of technical school, or equivalent experience.
Experience3 years minimum field service experience.
Job Type & LocationContract position based out of San Francisco, CA. Hybrid workplace in San Francisco, CA.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $40.00–$55.00/hr eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on job classification and length of employment. Benefits may include:
