Overview

Job Overview: Shaka Code is looking for a skilled Product Designer who can bring valuable product management skills to our team. This role is perfect for a UX Designer who wants to broaden their scope and play an active role in shaping product direction and strategy. While your main responsibility will be product design, product management skills are a significant plus.

The ideal candidate can occasionally contribute to product strategy and collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, ensuring design decisions align with broader business goals.

100% remote position with flexible working hours

Work independently on big projects and make decisions based on varying amounts of information. Our projects range from new products to refinements on existing products.

• Product Design: Lead the end-to-end design process, from user research and wire framing to prototyping and final UI design.
• Collaborate with engineering teams to ensure designs are implemented accurately.
• Create prototypes and high-fidelity designs that align with the product vision.
• Maintain and evolve design systems to ensure consistency across the product.

• Assist in prioritizing features and defining product requirements that enhance user experience and business impact.

• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with cross-functional teams, including marketing, customer support, and engineering, to ensure a cohesive product experience.
• Act as an advocate for the user throughout the product development lifecycle.

• 3+ years of experience as a product or UI/UX designer with shipped products in your portfolio.
• Proven ability to balance design tasks with strategic product management responsibilities.
• Experience creating designs either mobile-first or desktop-first.

• Excellent spoken and written English communication skills, with the ability to collaborate across teams and present ideas clearly.
• Proficiency in design tools like Figma, or similar.
• Strong understanding of product strategy and the ability to contribute to roadmap planning.
• Analytical mindset with experience in user research and data-driven decision-making.
