SOC Shift Lead

What you can expect

We are seeking an experienced SOC Shift Lead to provide technical leadership and operational oversight within our 24x7 Security Operations Center. This position reports directly to the Head of SOC and is responsible for ensuring consistent security operations, leading investigations, and coordinating high-quality analytical support across all shifts. The ideal candidate is motivated by curiosity to drive meaningful investigations, and will ensure operational excellence while mentoring and developing team members in a collaborative environment.

The Detection and Response (D&R) team at Zoom is responsible for safeguarding the company's systems and information to protect customers, partners, and employees. This involves assessing business risk and countering potential threats through proactive reactive measures. D&R encompasses Cyber Threat Intelligence, Security Logging, Detection Engineering, the Security Operations Center, and Incident Response.

• Leading and overseeing security investigations, ensuring thorough analysis and appropriate incident escalation.
• Review analyst investigations for quality and accuracy.
• Provide technical guidance on complex cases.
• Ensure proper shift handoff and documentation.
• Serving as primary point of contact for analytical support during declared incidents.
• Coordinate investigative efforts with stakeholder teams.
• Make decisive investigative decisions during incidents.
• Manage investigative resources during high-priority events.
• Driving continuous improvement of operational standards.
• Ensure compliance with SOPs and regulatory requirements.
• Optimize shift workflows and processes.
• Facilitate communication between shifts.
• Providing mentorship and development opportunities for SOC analysts.
• Deliver technical guidance and training.
• Support new team member onboarding.
• Provide performance feedback to leadership.

• Have 3+ years of hands‑on SOC analyst experience in a senior or leadership role.
• Have deep technical knowledge of security tools, threat detection, and incident response.
• Have strong leadership and mentoring abilities.
• Have experience with security frameworks and compliance requirements.
• Have excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Have the ability to work independently in a 24x7 shift environment.
• Possess relevant security certifications.

In addition to the base salary and/or OTE listed Zoom has a Total Direct Compensation philosophy that takes into consideration; base salary, bonus and equity value.

Note:

Starting pay will be based on a number of factors and commensurate with qualifications & experience.

We also have a location based compensation structure; there may be a different range for candidates in this and other locations.
