Chief IT Network Engineering

Position Overview

Provides strategic leadership and technical expertise in enterprise network architecture, guiding design standards, technology adoption, and investment priorities to ensure secure, scalable, and resilient network infrastructure across the organization.

• Advise on emerging network technologies and trends to guide strategic investment and adoption decisions.
• Define and recommend network architectural standards, design principles, and best practices to ensure secure, scalable, and resilient systems.
• Review network designs and initiatives, providing expert guidance to align with enterprise priorities and compliance requirements.
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship to network engineering teams and project stakeholders.
• Counsel the Executives on network-related project prioritization, risk assessment, and technology lifecycle strategies.
• Comply with all applicable laws/regulations, as well as company policies/procedures.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, information technology or related field.
• Ten (10) years of experience in IT Network or engineering environment, of which eight (8) years involve designing large‑scale, multi‑site and Data Center environments.
• Expertise in evaluating and recommending network technologies, platforms, and architectural patterns.
• Expert knowledge of enterprise networking domains including LAN/WAN, SD‑WAN, wireless, security, and cloud connectivity.
• Experience advising executive leadership on investment planning, technology adoption, and standards definition.
• Strategic advisory skills to influence enterprise network investments and technology decisions.
• Advanced technical expertise to define and recommend network architectural standards.
• Strong communication and influencing skills to guide senior leaders and network teams effectively.

• Some travel required.

Compensation listed reflects the pay range or pay rate reasonably expected for this position. If this opportunity includes multiple job levels, pay information represents the minimum and maximum range for all levels. Actual pay is determined by job‑related factors permitted by law and relevant to position, such as experience, tenure, market level, pay at the location, performance, schedule, and work assignment.

Additional Details:
While this is a remote position, the successful candidate must reside within 50 miles of a Fed Ex Freight location(s) in Memphis, TN or Minneapolis, MN.
