About the roleBeing a Product Designer at Careem gives you the opportunity to work on complex, high‑impact product experiences used by millions across the region. We are looking for someone with strong product thinking, structured problem solving, and the ability to translate user and business needs into clear solutions. This role involves working across the full product lifecycle from framing problems and shaping direction through to detailed design and delivery.
You will collaborate closely with product and engineering, seek clarity with users and data, and help ship meaningful outcomes that improve the lives of our customers.
- Collaborate with product and engineering to understand problems, validate needs, and define opportunities
- Shape end to end product experiences through user journeys, flows, prototypes, and high‑fidelity execution
- Introduce simplicity to complex journeys across Careem’s mobile and web products
- Use research and feedback to inform decisions and reduce risk
- Integrate modern design tools and AI‑driven workflows into the design process to increase exploration depth, reduce bottlenecks, and speed up execution
- Present product rationale and design decisions clearly to peers, stakeholders, and leadership
- Contribute to our design standards and patterns so teams can move faster with quality
- 3 to 5 plus years of experience designing consumer products for mobile and web
- Ability to think in systems and design for full scenarios rather than individual screens
- Strong product reasoning and problem‑solving skills with clear articulation of decisions
- Excellent written, verbal, and visual communication skills with cross‑functional teams
- Familiarity with user research methods including interviews and usability tests
- Experience working in iterative environments with fast feedback cycles
- Experience using AI based tools for design, research, prototyping, or content creation as part of regular workflows
- A portfolio that demonstrates product thinking, problem‑solving, and strong execution with case studies encouraged
- Experience with design systems
- Experience with metrics, experimentation, or data‑informed design
