Overview
Acuity, Inc. , recipient of Washington Business Journals Best Places to work for our fifth consecutive year, is seeking a dynamic, self-motivated individual with experience, knowledge and skills as a System Administrator. This position is remote.
Acuity is seeking a Junior System Administrator to support a fast-paced DHS mission environment. This role works with senior engineers to streamline operations, improve monitoring and reporting, and assist with environment upgrades and deployments across multiple stages.

Responsibilities- Monitor systems and tickets; perform initial triage, resolution, and escalation.
- Execute routine patching, account administration, and backup/restore tasks.
- Assist with deployments in Dev/UAT/Pre-Prod/Prod following documented change records.
- Update runbooks, configuration baselines, inventories, and knowledge articles.
- Perform interface checks (web services/SFTP) and basic log analysis using Splunk and platform tools.
- Education/
Experience:
BS in IT (or equivalent) and 1-2 years of system administration or Dev Sec Ops experience.
- Technical Familiarity:
- RHEL/Windows Admin, JBoss or similar Java app server basics, Mongo
DB fundamentals, CI/CD usage (Cloud Bees/Maven), Ansible/Terraform basics, IIS/Apache, AD/Kerberos Splunk/log tooling, SFTP - Strong troubleshooting, documentation, and customer support skills.
Security & Clearance
- Ability to obtain and maintain a Top Secret clearance with SCI eligibility.
