Job Summary

The Technical Solutions Specialist is responsible for supporting the design, configuration, and delivery of technical solutions that enable efficient and accurate revenue cycle operations at EMS|MC. This role works closely with Data Management, Reporting, Product, Engineering, Sales, and Client Services teams to ensure internal teams have the necessary technology to meet customer‑specific requirements. The Technical Solutions Specialist bridges the gap between operational needs and technical capabilities by gathering requirements, performing detailed analysis, and assisting in the development and support of technology‑enabled solutions.

Responsibilities/Activities
  • Support the design, configuration, and delivery of reports, dashboards, and data solutions needed to meet internal and client needs.
  • Partner with stakeholders to gather business requirements, document workflows, and translate needs into clear technical specifications.
  • Partner with Sales and Client Success teams to onboard new customers throughout the sales cycle, including proposal review, customer onboarding meetings, and technical requirements gathering.
  • Perform testing and quality assurance for new reports, data extracts, and system enhancements to ensure accuracy and reliability.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert (SME) for data requirements related to customer data Accounts Receivable (AR) conversions.
  • Troubleshoot issues related to reporting, data integrity, and system integrations, escalating as needed to technical teams.
  • Serve as a subject matter resource on EMS|MC’s data structures, reporting tools, and revenue cycle workflows.
  • Help develop and maintain documentation for data definitions and solution requirements.
  • Provide training and education to internal users on customer‑specific solutions and data usage best practices.
  • Identify opportunities to improve processes, create standardization, and promote automation.
  • Ensure all data handling complies with privacy, security, and regulatory requirements, including HIPAA.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Education, Skills, & Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Business Analytics, Computer Science, Healthcare Administration, a related field or equivalent experience.
  • 2+ years of experience in a technical, reporting, analytics, or solutions‑focused role.
  • Detailed knowledge of EMS revenue cycle processes, data structures, and existing technical solutions.
  • Proficiency with Structured Query Language (SQL) and working knowledge of relational databases.
  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills with the ability to work through complex data questions.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non‑technical stakeholders.
  • Strong organizational skills and experience managing multiple tasks or projects simultaneously.
  • Proficiency in English is necessary for job‑related communication, including understanding policies, writing correspondence, and engaging with colleagues or clients.
Preferred Education, Skills, & Experience
  • Experience in healthcare technology, EMS/ambulance billing, or revenue cycle management.
  • Knowledge of HL7, NEMSIS, X12, or other healthcare data standards.
  • Experience with cloud platforms (AWS preferred).
  • Background in scripting languages (Python, Power Shell, or similar).
  • Experience with supporting client implementations or technical pre‑sales activities.
Working Environment
  • The office environment is a controlled indoor setting with minimal exposure to adverse conditions.
  • Noise levels in the office are typically moderate and consistent with a standard office setting.
  • For employees approved to work in a hybrid or remote setting, a quiet, private workspace free from significant distractions is required to ensure productivity during work hours.
  • A reliable internet connection is required for hybrid/remote work. EMS|MC will provide necessary equipment, including a computer, monitor, keyboard, mouse and headset.
Physical Requirements
  • Sitting: frequent and prolonged periods of sitting at a desk while working on a computer.
  • Communication: frequent and prolonged periods of speaking, listening, reading, and writing.
  • Fine motor skills: frequent use of hands for typing and operating a computer mouse.
  • Movement: occasional walking and climbing of stairs; limited bending, kneeling, lifting, and carrying of office‑related items.
  • Travel: must be able to travel occasionally to attend required company meetings and customer on‑site meetings for technical requirements and solution design.

Pay:
The salary range for this role is 55k‑80k annually, with final compensation determined by experience, technical depth, and overall qualifications. Individuals in this role are eligible to participate in a discretionary bonus plan and a comprehensive benefit package, including a retirement plan, health coverage, and paid time off.
