The ideal candidate will be a key member of the (STEPN) Software, Technology, Engineering, Product & Networking) organization. We are seeking a highly qualified and experienced Senior Lead Software Developer to join our fast-paced and innovative team. This leadership role is responsible for guiding the design, development, and deployment of scalable, resilient software solutions within a cloud-native architecture. The position involves providing strategic technical direction across the creation and integration of multiple complex systems, translating business requirements into effective technical designs, and contributing to the evaluation and selection of IT solutions aligned with specific business processes.

This is a work from home position within the US.

• Design, develop, and maintain enterprise-grade applications using Java (Spring Boot, Spring Cloud) or Python (Django, Flask, FastAPI)
• Lead application modernization efforts, refactoring monolithic systems into microservices architectures and migrate from legacy platform to AWS.
• Implement RESTful APIs, event-driven architectures, and serverless solutions
• Design, build, and maintain CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins, AWS Dev Ops (X-Ray, Cloud Watch, etc.), and Git workflows to automate build, test, and deployment
• Implements highly scalable CI/CD platforms to support high change volumes and fast feedback
• Works with Enterprise Architecture, Information Security (Info Sec), Software Delivery, and Quality Assurance to enable the organization to move to the cloud using complete automation
• Coordinate and execute release activities, managing dependencies, risks, and schedules across teams
• Troubleshoot deployment issues, perform root cause analysis, and facilitate fixes to ensure reliable releases
• Maintain release documentation, manage processes, and continuously recommend improvements
• Research new technologies that will improve efficiency and effectiveness

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in engineering, computer science, or related field
• 7+ years of software development experience in Java or Python
• 3+ years of hands-on Dev Ops and cloud infrastructure experience
• 2+ years of AWS cloud migration project experience
• Strong background in Rancher orchestration, containerization, and multi-cloud networking
• Experience with an APM solution:
  App Dynamics (preferred), Dynatrace
• Experience working with infrastructure-based technologies (Load balancers, SSL, API Gateways, DNS, etc.)
• Experience interfacing with secrets management solutions
• Monitoring & Logging experience via Prometheus, Grafana, ELK Stack
• Experience working with distributed messaging platform like Kafka

This information reflects the anticipated base salary range for this position based on current national data. Minimums and maximums may vary based on location. Individual pay is based on skills, experience and other relevant factors.

Location Based Pay Ranges:

• $129,639 - $172,852 in these states: AL, AR, AZ, FL, GA, IA, , IN, KS, KY, LA, ME, MO, MS, MT, ND, NE, NM, OH, OK, PA, SC, SD, TN, UT, VT, WI, WV, and WY.
• $136,121 - $181,494 in these states: CO, HI, MI, MN, NC, NH, NV, OR, and RI.
• $142,603 - $190,137 in these states: AK, CA, CT, DC, DE, IL, MA, MD, NJ, NY, TX, VA, and WA.
