Job Summary
As a Clinical Business Analyst, you will be a key contributor within our Customer Solutions and Implementation department, driving the success of critical initiatives that bridge business needs with technology solutions. In this role, you will analyze complex business problems, identify opportunities for improvement, and deliver data-driven recommendations that enhance our clinical systems and operations. You will work under moderate supervision across moderately complex information systems to ensure business requirements are accurately defined, documented, and implemented throughout the project lifecycle.
You will collaborate with cross-functional partners to ensure our technology aligns with strategic business objectives. This role reports to the Director of Business Analysis and offers an opportunity to advance clinical outcomes through innovation and operational excellence.
Job Responsibilities
- Function as an individual contributor under moderate supervision within clearly defined guidelines and objectives.
- Develop comprehensive documentation for moderately complex projects and information systems, ensuring clarity and accuracy throughout the project lifecycle.
- Apply advanced business analysis expertise to evaluate and resolve system issues, identifying effective and sustainable solutions.
- Collaborate with teams to document detailed business requirements and system functionality, including use cases, workflow diagrams, and gap analyses to support requirements and design specifications.
- Analyze user needs using established methodologies, manage and document changes in project scope as client requirements evolve, support all phases of system testing (including UAT), and assist in successful implementation of information systems.
- Maintain and verify bi-directional traceability of requirements, monitor and report progress, and escalate issues, risks, and dependencies to senior management as needed.
- Contribute to developing innovative solutions addressing business process challenges and improving efficiency, while demonstrating subject-matter expertise within assigned functions or modules.
- Demonstrate knowledge of business analysis methodologies, frameworks, and best practices to achieve project and organizational goals.
- Act as a liaison between clients and technology teams, provide client support through system demonstrations, and assist with preparation, facilitation, and presentations. Stay informed about emerging technologies, industry trends, and regulatory changes, including federal guidelines and HIPAA Privacy and Security Rules.
- Participate in requirements management and design sessions to ensure alignment between business needs and technical solutions.
- Engage in a culture of continuous feedback to drive individual and team performance.
- Support the development of Associate Business Analysts through mentoring, knowledge sharing, and guidance.
- Read, understand, and adhere to all corporate policies, including HIPAA compliance, privacy, and data security.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Business Administration, or a closely related field. Equivalent professional experience will be considered in lieu of formal education.
- 3 to 6 years of relevant experience in business analysis or a related discipline.
- Experience with the Systems Development Life Cycle (SDLC), including requirements gathering, analysis, design, testing, and implementation.
- Understanding of the requirements management life cycle and industry best practices in business analysis.
- Healthcare industry experience with an understanding of clinical and operational processes.
- Ability to produce clear, concise, and well-structured documentation; strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Highly organized with excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.
Preferred Qualifications
- Familiarity with SharePoint, Microsoft Teams, Visio, and other collaboration tools.
- Healthcare program domain knowledge (e.g., Medicare, Medicaid).
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team and independently, effectively managing multiple projects under moderate supervision.
- Adaptability to shifting priorities and deadlines in dynamic project environments.
