Advantage Tech is searching for a Manager, Applications to lead and oversee enterprise Oracle ERP platforms, integrations, and technical application teams. This role combines deep Oracle technical expertise with people leadership and operational ownership. While the position is fully remote, candidates located in the Midwest are strongly preferred to support occasional onsite meetings or emergency response needs. This role is ideal for a senior Oracle leader who can own strategy, stability, and modernization across complex ERP environments.
TheWork
The Manager, Applications is responsible for the stability, performance, and evolution of Oracle ERP systems, with a primary focus on Oracle E-Business Suite (EBS). This role leads technical resources, vendors, and initiatives across daily operations, upgrades, implementations, compliance efforts, and long-term roadmap planning. The position reports to the Director of Enterprise Applications and plays a critical role in ensuring enterprise systems remain secure, scalable, and aligned with business priorities.
Responsibilities- Own the operational health, performance, and reliability of Oracle ERP and related application environments.
- Lead Oracle EBS upgrades, patches, implementations, and enhancement initiatives.
- Manage and mentor technical application teams and external vendors.
- Oversee SDLC execution, release management, and change control processes.
- Partner with business stakeholders to translate needs into scalable technical solutions.
- Drive application architecture decisions, system design, and integration strategies.
- Ensure compliance with audit, security, and regulatory standards (including HITRUST).
- Monitor and manage application roadmaps, timelines, budgets, and delivery priorities.
- Support incident response, root cause analysis, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Contribute to enterprise IT strategy and cross-functional technology initiatives.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related discipline.
- 3+ years of experience leading Oracle E-Business Suite (EBS 12+) environments.
- 8+ years of overall Oracle ERP experience across support, development, and architecture.
- Demonstrated expertise across Oracle EBS modules (Finance, Accounting, Manufacturing).
- Hands-on experience with Oracle database management and architecture.
- Strong technical skills in SQL/PLSQL, XML, and Web Services integrations.
- Proven experience managing technical teams and delivering enterprise-scale projects.
- Advanced understanding of SDLC, Dev Ops practices, and release management.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities while meeting deadlines in a production environment.
- Strong leadership, communication, and decision-making capabilities.
- Experience with Vertex tax engine integrations.
- Prior leadership in regulated or audit-heavy environments.
- Experience modernizing or integrating legacy Oracle platforms.
- Exposure to cloud-adjacent Oracle architectures or hybrid environments.
- Background supporting distributed or geographically diverse teams.
- High-speed, hard-wired internet connection.
- Dedicated, distraction-free home office.
- Willingness to participate in video meetings with camera enabled.
- Availability to travel onsite occasionally for critical meetings or incidents.
