Role OverviewThe NOC MSE3 Engineer is a senior role, handling complex operational issues within the Network Operations Center. You are responsible for ensuring firewall integrity, business continuity readiness, and server/network uptime for client environments. This position requires advanced technical skills, excellent communication, and a proactive approach to monitoring and incident response. You will also guide and mentor junior NOC engineers, ensuring high standards of service and operational excellence.
Success is measured by your ability to maintain high uptime, resolve escalated incidents, produce accurate reports, and support the NOC team in achieving departmental goals.
- Perform firewall configurations, backups, patching, firmware upgrades, and policy updates.
- Manage cloud and local backups (MSP
360, Wasabi, etc.) and validate restore procedures. - Conduct server patching (Windows/Linux), monitor infrastructure health, and flag issues.
- Use Auvik for network monitoring, alert investigation, and reporting on performance.
- Maintain and respond to alert queues, escalating according to impact and severity.
- Deliver scheduled health and patch reports, and assist in post‑incident documentation.
- Coordinate with weekend NOC partners for incident handoff and alignment.
- Provide functional direction to Tier 1 & Tier 2 NOC engineers.
- Participate in NOC process improvements, including SOP documentation and automation.
- Adhere to all Uprise standard operating procedures and policies.
- Constantly focus on delighting all Uprise customers with reliable, proactive service.
- Other tasks as customer and business needs evolve.
Skills and Qualifications
- 7+ years of experience in a NOC or infrastructure support role.
- Demonstrated expert‑level experience in firewall platforms (Fortinet, Sonic Wall, etc.).
- Strong background in Windows Server 2016+ and Linux operations.
- WAN/LAN networking, routing, switching, security, and load balancing.
- Networking protocols: TCP/IP, VPN, IPSEC, VoIP, VLANs, and QoS.
- Backup technologies (MSP
360, Wasabi, cloud/local storage). - Monitoring and patch management platforms (Auvik, RMM, etc.).
- Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills with ability to prioritize based on criticality.
- Fluent in English (written and verbal).
- Ability to work 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM PHT (U.S. night shift hours).
- Strong documentation skills for both users and internal staff.
Expert Skills in:
- Firewall configuration and management (Fortinet and Sonic Wall preferred).
- Network security best practices.

- Competency in automation scripting (Python, Power Shell, BASH).
- Experience with PSA, RMM, or NOC workflow management tools.
- Previous involvement in NOC process design, automation, or efficiency initiatives.
