HII-Mission Technologies Division is seeking multiple experienced Weather Forecaster's to join our team at Beale AFB, California. The Weather Forecaster will provide detailed weather support in support of up to 24/7/365 U-2 MPC operations. Also, assist in the development and integration of relevant weather data into advanced systems and technologies. To integrate all weather environmental data from a variety of sources to assess current and forecast weather environment in order to issue weather products, alert bulletins, and forecasts an anomaly assessment providing a quick-look and forensic assessments to determine the potential for weather impacts to operations.
This includes validating and verifying weather models, products, and SOPs. Additionally, ensure the quality (timeliness, accuracy) of responses to customer questions/requests for information.
- Provide analytical, advisory, and technical support to leadership
- When planning, ensure all electronic technical data, regulations, and instructions are current on all electronic systems and physical storage locations
- Assist project management efforts as directed by the leadership to improve integration into the ISR value chain as well as national command, combat, and communication architectures
- Analyze and evaluate MPC mission planning software, software tools, and associated support systems to recommend changes and upgrades to maximize efficiency and effectiveness
- Research, identify, and/or innovate technologies, processes, and/or procedures for implementation in mission planning and/or mission execution operations
- Attend meetings as directed by the leadership
- Maintain NIPR, SIPR, and JWICS accounts
- Provide technical meteorological services. Prepare and direct weather resources to support operational objectives
- Observe, collect, analyze, integrate, and forecasts meteorological, oceanographic and space environmental information from data sparse, nonpermissive, hostile, and data-denied areas into military decision-making processes
- Proven ability to quickly identify and respond to anomalous weather environments
- Knowledge of interpretation of weather satellite imagery, climatology reports, computerized weather prediction models, and Doppler weather radar imagery
- Knowledge in analyzing various types of weather elements such as clouds, wind speed, fog, visibility, atmospheric pressure, etc.
- Experience and knowledge of oceanographic, meteorological and space atmospheric conditions and hazards
