Business Analyst – SharePoint Online Migration (Contract)
Location: Remote (U.S.
-based)
Duration: 6‑month contract (anticipated start February 2026)
Compensation: $50.00‑$60.00/hr w2, depending on qualifications

Role OverviewSeeking a Business Analyst to support the migration of SharePoint sites from SharePoint 2019 to SharePoint Online. This role focuses on migration planning, requirements gathering, stakeholder engagement, and documentation to ensure a smooth transition from on‑premises SharePoint to the cloud.
This is a hands‑on business analysis role working closely with technical SharePoint teams and business stakeholders to define what content moves, what is retired, and what requires remediation or redesign.
Key Responsibilities- Gather and document business and technical requirements to support SharePoint Online migration planning
- Create migration documentation (e.g., Excel workbooks, requirements docs, wireframes) outlining site content to be migrated, content to be decommissioned, web forms or workflows requiring remediation (e.g., Info Path replacements), and write requirements for Power Platform applications and Info Path form replacements
- Partner with business stakeholders to align on migration plans and priorities
- Build consensus across business units regarding timing, scope, and sequencing of site migrations
- Provide recommendations to technical teams on migration sequencing based on business priority, size, and complexity
- Support in‑flight and new SharePoint Online development requests with documentation and stakeholder coordination
- Participate in weekly status meetings and regular check‑ins with the SharePoint team lead
- 3–5 years of experience as a Business Analyst
- Experience supporting website or content migrations
- Working knowledge of SharePoint 2019 and/or SharePoint Online
- Experience as a SharePoint end user or site قدر owner (2+ years)
- Strong requirements gathering, documentation, and stakeholder communication skills
- Ability to collaborate with both technical teams and business users at varying levels
- Experience with Microsoft Power Platform
- Project management experience
- Prior work supporting enterprise or public‑sector environments
