Niyam IT is seeking an experienced Service Now Prod Architect to support one of our federal clients. This role is responsible for delivering custom, scoped applications on the Service Now platform, including application design, configuration, and scripting. The individual will design secure and scalable solutions by applying sound data modeling practices, access controls, and platform security considerations. Responsibilities include designing and supporting integrations using REST and SOAP APIs, Integration Hub, and MID Servers, while guiding Agile teams through technical decision‑making and issue resolution.

The role requires the ability to anticipate architectural challenges, implement practical solutions, and communicate effectively with both technical and non‑technical stakeholders. Success in this position depends on strong collaboration with developers, program managers, testers, and operations teams to deliver iterative, high‑quality solutions efficiently. This role is hybrid‑remote to client site in Ashburn, VA.

Roles and Responsibilities:
  • Serve as the technical lead and product architect for Service Now‑based solutions.
  • Responsible for all aspects of application architecture including data models, integrations, automation, security, and platform configuration.
  • Maintain a sound understanding of enterprise and program‑level architecture.
  • Liaise with Business Analysts to understand business needs and design solutions that meet those needs while complying with architectural standards.
  • Present and evangelize solutions to architecture guilds and management.
  • Work with Business Analysts and Scrum Masters to create implementation plans by developing epics and user stories.
  • Lead technical aspects of Agile ceremonies, including platform demonstrations to Product Owners and stakeholders.
  • Guide team members in breaking stories into tasks and completing work efficiently.
  • Mentor developers and testers, fostering a collaborative environment where questions and concerns are encouraged.
  • Keep current with Service Now platform capabilities and industry trends.
  • Delegate technical tasks and ensure sprint and release objectives are met.
  • Perform and participate in architecture design and reviews, ensuring alignment with future‑state goals.
  • Identify architectural risks, opportunities, compliance issues, and technical debt.
  • Participate in sprint planning, testing, demonstrations, retrospectives, and solution releases.
  • Review cybersecurity assessments and static code analysis results and define remediation actions.
Qualifications and

Education Requirements:
  • US Citizenship with ability to successfully complete a federal background investigation.
