Our client, Collaborate Solutions, Inc., is seeking a Systems Engineer to lead an ongoing Active Directory and Office 365 migration project for a healthcare client. The architect has designed the solution; this role is focused on execution, troubleshooting, and issue resolution across users, mailboxes, desktops, and printers.
Responsibilities- Execute AD consolidation and O365 migrations across multiple domains.
- Migrate users, groups, mailboxes, desktops, and printers into the new environment.
- Troubleshoot issues with DNS, GPO, replication, and authentication.
- Script automation tasks using Power Shell and configure migration tools (Quest/ADMT).
- Identify and resolve roadblocks quickly to keep the migration on track.
- Ensure healthcare compliance (HIPAA/PHI) during migration activities.
- 7+ years of Windows Systems Engineering experience.
- Prior hands‑on AD/O365 enterprise migration experience (multi‑domain/forest).
- Strong troubleshooting skills across DNS/DHCP/GPO/replication.
- Power Shell scripting and automation.
- Quest Migration Manager, ADMT, or similar migration tool experience.
- Healthcare IT experience highly preferred.
- Certifications (preferred):
Microsoft Certified:
Enterprise Administrator Expert.
The project involves integrating three different sites' Active Directory domains into the Health domain, migrating users, email, desktops, and printers. There is also a migration from on‑premises Exchange and Office to M365, with vendor support for the M365 migration.
Resource NeedsThe team requires one or two senior‑level systems engineers (not full architects, but with strong technical grasp) and one security engineer with expertise in network, routing, and firewall rules (including L2/L3, DMZ, and untrust networks). These roles are to augment the current architects and reduce their workload by handling implementation and troubleshooting.
Entities InvolvedThe main groups are GPPC, OMP, and Upper Allegheny Health System. GPPC is far along with app and file migrations and has a third‑party IT company involved. OMP is in the pilot stage for email migration and uses Citrix for application access. Upper Allegheny Health has a network trust in place which makes it an easier migration.
ApproachThe plan involves migrating emails, making applications available via Citrix, and then transitioning users and desktops to the new image. The process includes working with third‑party IT for some entities and coordinating with internal architects.
TimelineResources needed immediately, with the goal to complete all integrations and migrations by the end of the following month. Remote work is acceptable, but local resources may be asked to work onsite.
