Requirements

  • High School diploma required;
    Associates Degree in Information Technology preferred
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience in IT support or related field
  • Proficient in providing end-user IT assistance and customer service
  • Exceptional problem-solving and analytical abilities
  • Strong organizational and planning skills
  • Detail-oriented mindset with a focus on accuracy
  • Leadership and negotiation skills
  • Ability to interpret cause and effect in problem-solving situations
  • Excellent verbal and written communication abilities
  • Familiarity with support techniques for enterprise and standalone Windows 7 PCs
  • Knowledge of peripherals (printers, scanners, etc.) and small network configurations
  • Basic understanding of Microsoft productivity software (Office 2010)
  • Some experience with Active Directory and Exchange distribution groups
Responsibilities
  • Address and resolve IT support tickets logged through the call tracking system
  • Provide IT assistance to all Lutheran Social Services offices in Wisconsin and Upper Michigan
  • Handle inbound communications via phone and email while tracking issues
  • Resolve front-line support problems and escalate when necessary
  • Remotely install, upgrade, and manage IT software for users
  • Adhere to IT policies and procedures when performing assigned duties
  • Work independently as needed
  • Monitor ongoing tickets and make necessary updates
  • Occasionally travel for work-related needs
  • Perform additional tasks as assigned by management

We are Lutheran Social Services of Wisconsin and Upper Michigan, currently looking for an IT Customer Support Specialist to be part of our Help Desk team. This role offers an excellent chance to gain practical IT experience and is compensated at a rate of $20-$22/hr located in our corporate office in West Allis, this position requires in-office presence primarily from Monday to Friday, 8 AM to 5 PM, with some opportunities for occasional remote work after training.
