The IT Project Manager is responsible for managing multiple IT projects simultaneously, ensuring delivery within agreed timelines, budgets, and quality standards. This role requires strong coordination skills to work with two directors who will define project priorities and objectives. The person must bridge the gap between business needs and technical solutions and proactively identify interdependence across projects.
What will your main responsibilities look like?- Project Delivery:
- Ensure projects are delivered on time, within scope, and according to client requirements.
- Maintain and update project progress plans and dashboards.
- Business Analysis & Solution Validation:
- Understand and document business requirements clearly.
- Assess proposed technical solutions to confirm they meet business needs and functional requirements.
- Interdependency Management (“Connect the Dots”):
- Identify and manage interdependence between projects to avoid conflicts and optimize resource allocation.
- Communicate potential impacts and propose mitigation strategies.
- Stakeholder Management:
- Act as the primary liaison between IT teams and business stakeholders.
- Coordinate approval processes for deliverables and manage client expectations.
- Risk & Change Management:
- Identify, analyze, and mitigate project risks.
- Manage change requests and ensure proper documentation.
- Team Coordination:
- Lead daily stand-ups and ensure effective collaboration among all project participants.
- Reporting:
- Provide regular updates to both directors on project status, risks, and resource needs.
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field or equivalent professional experience.
- Minimum 5 years in managing IT projects.
- Previous experience in IT project management within a multi-project environment.
- Experience in managing multidisciplinary teams.
- Scrum Master or Agile certification is an asset.
- PMP certification is an asset.
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects concurrently and detect interdependencies.
- Strong understanding of business processes and ability to translate them into technical requirements.
- Ability to evaluate technical proposals for alignment with business objectives.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (oral and written).
- Proficiency in MS Office Suite (including MS Project and Excel).
- Excellent English and French language skills, both oral and written, due to frequent interactions with English and French speaking internal and external colleagues and partners across Canada.
- Familiarity with infrastructure, corporate applications & security projects is an asset
- Knowledge of Agile methodologies.
- Highly organized, proactive, and team oriented.
