Director, Field Operations & Data Management

Join IDEAYA Biosciences as a Director of Field Operations & Data Management. This role leads field operations strategy, manages commercial data assets, and ensures field teams have the tools, insights, and operational support to execute effectively.

Job Summary

IDEAYA is a precision medicine oncology company focused on discovery, development and commercialization of transformative therapies for cancer. The company’s pipeline includes synthetic lethality agents and antibody‑drug conjugates for molecularly defined solid tumor indications. Ideaya’s mission is to produce more selective, effective and personalized oncology therapies that transform patient outcomes.

Position Summary

The Director of Field Operations and Data Management reports to the Vice President of Commercial Operations, Analytics & Insights. This individual will develop and execute field operations strategy, oversee commercial data assets, and partner with sales, marketing, market access, training, finance and executive leadership. The initial focus will be on launching and supporting darovasertib for metastatic uveal melanoma, with a long‑term goal of scaling the department to support future assets in the pipeline.

During the first year the position is an individual contributor; within two years the role will evolve into a team lead with 1–3 direct reports. The role requires on‑site presence four days per week.

What you’ll do:

Field Operations
  • Design incentive compensation programs for rare‑disease oncology, including goal setting and short‑term contests to accelerate launch.
  • Act as the operational liaison between field‑based commercial teams and the home office, including Sales, Marketing, Market Access, Field Reimbursement, and Medical.
  • Partner with sales leadership to build territories, including HCP assignments and zip‑to‑terr (ZTT) creation.
  • Collaborate with IDEAYA IT to design and deploy the CRM platform, likely Veeva.
  • Deliver timely insights and analytics to field leadership on sales performance, customer engagement trends and call activity.
  • Work with legal and training teams to ensure all field activities comply with regulatory and company standards.
  • Translate data into actionable insights and lead cross‑functional meetings.
  • Support training initiatives, content creation and program execution.
  • Travel up to 15%, primarily for sales meetings.
Data Management
  • Acquire and integrate key commercial data sources such as prescriber‑level data, specialty pharmacy data, payer data and hub data.
  • Develop and implement a master data management system and related commercial data warehouse.
  • Partner with IT and vendors to ensure accurate, timely data ingestion into the data warehouse.
  • Establish data quality standards, validation rules and reconciliation processes.
  • Ensure compliance with privacy regulations and internal data usage policies.
  • Maintain reliable, actionable data for dashboards, reporting and incentive compensation.
Requirements
  • BS or BA in a related discipline and at least seven years of related experience.
  • Experience leading product launches in biotech or pharmaceutical oncology.
  • Experience managing incentive compensation and data analytics.
  • Expertise with commercial data sources such as specialty pharmacy data, medical claims and hub data.
  • Strong presentation, communication, organizational and project‑management skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead continuous assessment of commercial objectives and strategy.
  • Capacity to interpret ambiguous information and collaborate with diverse stakeholders.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and basic database queries.
Total Rewards

The expected salary range for this role is $216,000 to $267,000 annually, commensurate with experience, location and performance.
