Software Engineer, Cybersecurity

Overview

Join Roke as a Full Stack Software Engineer and help protect the UK and its interests through mission‑critical software solutions. You’ll develop cutting‑edge products in AI, Cybersecurity, Cloud, Big Data, and Digital Transformation, working with national security customers to safeguard people, platforms, missions and information against evolving threats.

• Write clean, secure, test‑driven code.
• Build code that is open by default and easily maintainable.
• Effectively document all work using required standards, tools, and where appropriate, prototyping tools.
• Work with well‑understood and emerging technologies, identifying appropriate patterns.
• Integrate API and UI components with existing data stores and develop architectural components such as Data Ingest, Data Stores and REST APIs.
• Participate in sprint ceremonies (daily stand‑ups, epic decomposition, demos, planning sessions) and help the team understand upcoming API features and their impact.
• Collaborate with user researchers and represent users internally, explaining the difference between user needs and product desires.

• Programming languages: C#, JavaScript, Python or Java.
• Front‑end frameworks: at least one of Angular
  
  JS, React, VueJS.
• Windows infrastructure: IIS, Windows Server.
• Understanding of relational databases (e.g., SQL Server).
• Experience with containerisation:
  Docker and Kubernetes.
• Proficiency in scripting languages such as Bash or Power Shell.
• Ability to learn “just in time” and adopt new technologies quickly.

Romsey site located in beautiful Hampshire countryside near the New Forest District and close to the south coast. The campus includes ample parking, an on‑site gym, and a driveway full of daffodils in spring.

Eligibility for DV clearance required. Candidates must be British citizens and have resided in the UK for the last 10 years.
