If you enjoy closing or pushing products, this is not the job for you.

This role is for a senior-level technical professional who understands complex enterprise technology environments and can design practical, defensible solution strategies that clients can actually execute.

You will work alongside sales, but you are not sales. Your job is to protect the customer’s interests, tell the truth, and architect the right solution, even when that means recommending less, not more.

• Lead technical discovery and assessments for mid-market and enterprise clients.
• Analyze and document current-state environments across:
  Unified Communications (UC), Contact Center (CCaaS), Network (LAN/WAN/Wi-Fi), Security (identity, perimeter, cloud, compliance considerations)
• Identify gaps, risks, constraints, and technical debt.
• Translate business goals into a clear, achievable future-state architecture.
• Develop end-to-end solution strategies that are vendor-agnostic and defensible.
• Technical assessments
• Architecture recommendations
• Implementation roadmaps
• Participate in client meetings as the technical authority.
• Push back when a proposed solution is wrong, incomplete, or not in the client’s best interest.
• Hand off strategies that clients can execute internally or with third-party vendors.
• be comfortable with the work no and the reasons behind it

• Pitch products for the sake of revenue.
• Force-fit solutions.
• Over-architect for ego or complexity.
• Sugarcoat technical realities to make a deal easier.
• Be a  Yes Man

8+ years in a senior technical role such as:

• Sales Engineer
• Solution Architect
• Systems Architect
• Network Architect
• UC or CCaaS Architect

Deep hands-on experience across multiple of the following:

• Security fundamentals and risk analysis
• LAN Services (Switching, WIFI etc.)

Proven ability to assess complex, messy environments and simplify them.

Strong documentation skills. Your work must stand on its own.

Advanced Visio skills. This is non-negotiable.

Ability to communicate clearly with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Comfort telling clients “no” and explaining why.

• You care more about doing the right thing than winning the deal.

• You are skeptical of one-size-fits-all solutions.
• You take pride in clean architecture and clear thinking.
• You do not need validation from being “salesy.”

• Prior consulting experience.
• Experience working with MSPs, VARs, or advisory firms.
• Security certifications or formal architecture training.
• Experience inheriting poorly designed environments and fixing them.

• Quality and clarity of technical assessments.
• Accuracy and practicality of recommended architectures.
• Client trust and confidence.
• Reduction of risk and ambiguity for the customer.
• Repeat engagements based on credibility, not charm.

OTE: $210k
