Data Engineer

Data Engineer / Junior - Mid Level / £40,000 - £55,000 / Remote (UK) / 6-month FTC

We’re recruiting a Junior - Mid level Data Engineer to join a cloud-first data team working on a major migration programme. This is a hands-on role for someone who wants to grow their data engineering skills while helping move legacy ETL into a modern Databricks + Azure platform.

Why this role?

You’ll play a visible part in a large migration project - re-platforming and modernising pipelines, improving data quality, and helping the team adopt CI/CD for data workloads. Great mentoring and exposure to end-to-end pipelines.

Day-to-day

* Build, run and maintain ETL/ELT pipelines on Databricks / Azure.

* Implement data transformations, data quality checks and monitoring.

* Support migration of legacy jobs into Databricks notebooks / jobs.

* Work within CI/CD pipelines for testing and deployment.

* Collaborate with engineers, analysts and product owners to deliver features.

Must-haves

* 1 - 4 years’ data engineering / analytics engineering experience.

* Experience with Databricks and Azure (Data Factory, Data Lake, SQL).

* Strong SQL + Python.

* Familiarity with CI/CD concepts (pipelines, automation).

Nice-to-haves

* Knowledge of data modelling and performance tuning.

Salary: £40,000 - £55,000 DOE
