Position: IT and Applications Support Leader REF 1087 (work from home 4 days pw)

The organisation and culture: A Senior IT and Applications Support Analyst is required for this established investment management organisation. The business enjoys a people-driven culture where you are supported and developed in your IT career. As testament to this, the staff retention levels are much higher than the industry standard, with people staying employed by the company for many years. Within IT, there is a meritocracy mindset in play.

If you perform well, there is no reason why you cannot reach middle management and eventually a C level position. Offices based in Leeds city centre with hybrid working (1 day a week in the office or as projects demand) and excellent benefits.

Description: This is a split role running as partly IT related and partly Facilities/premises related and would suit a person looking for an all-round general office role with a good knowledge of IT hardware, technology systems and their management.

Reporting into the IT Service Delivery Manager

The support role (90+% of time) involves:

  • Supporting the head office systems.
  • Liaising with outsourced service providers to ensure ongoing service levels are maintained to ITIL standards.
  • Procurement of IT related hardware/software/licenses.
  • Support of the IT development network, maintenance/backup/upgrades/etc.
  • Asset logging and management.
  • Prioritising and dealing with 500+ end users from 1st line to 3rd line support.
  • Configuration and testing of Tablet PCs and in-house software.

The facilities role (up to 10% of time) involves:

  • Ensuring head office is operational.
  • Allocation and audit of security passes.
  • Maintenance/servicing of all systems.
  • Facilitating office upgrades/improvements.
  • Telephony management.

Support team management

  • 1 intermediate engineer.
  • 3 junior engineers.

Platforms: Organisation production systems are hosted in MS Azure and 90% of management outsourced.

  • Windows 2016 servers, web farm, failover 2nd location, Remote desktop services, cloud backups, SQL server.
  • Facilitating annual penetration tests, monthly review meetings, and all interactions between outsourced IT Services company and the organisation.
  • Licensing.
  • Dev/UAT Environment On Prem.
  • Desktops, Hyper

    V cluster on Windows 2022, EMC SAN, multiple VMs. Veeam backup, Ubiquiti firewalls, Sonic Wall SSLVPN.
  • Full management of on-prem environment, patches, upgrades, etc.

Everybody in the team covers:

  • Azure (AD, MS Office, Exchange, Teams, License).
  • Documenting procedures, help guides. Extracting statistics and metrics, monthly reporting.

This role would suit an individual with exceptional organisational and personal skills from a general IT background.
