IT Project Management – Senior/Specialist (Cybersecurity Program)
Join the State of Washington to manage enterprise‑wide, high‑risk cybersecurity projects. The role reports to the Technology Services Division (TSD) and collaborates with the WSDOT Enterprise Technology Project Management Office (ETPMO) and the Administrative Contracts Office.
Responsibilities- Independently analyze business requirements, scope, budget, risks, resources, and develop proposed solutions.
- Develop and maintain PMBOK and WSDOT TSD ETPMO project deliverables until project completion.
- Facilitate the establishment of a Project Steering Committee and lead project team meetings to manage progress throughout the project duration.
- Monitor project budget, adjust schedule, resources, tasks and deliverables according to the project work plan and schedule; document and communicate deviations.
- Establish and facilitate risk management, issue resolution, and formal change control processes based on PMBOK and TSD ETPMO best practices.
- Advise and facilitate WSDOT IT Customer Customer compliance with applicable RCWs, OCIO Policies, Standards, and Guidelines.
- Propose improvements to project management processes and advise other agency IT professionals on best practices, including traditional PMI and Agile processes, as appropriate.
- Advanced experience in developing detailed project management plans, schedules, analysis, and handling complex projects.
- Proficient in risk management processes, including proactive identification, analysis, and mitigation of project risks.
- Demonstrated leadership in guiding and mentoring project teams with inclusive work environments and continuous improvement.
- Advanced proficiency in project management methodologies, data management, and emerging technologies.
- Experience in public sector IT contract management, including drafting, negotiating, and administering agreements.
- Growth mindset and service‑oriented attitude.
- Experience managing public sector IT contracts and ensuring legal, procurement, and vendor‑management compliance.
- Expertise in leading continuous improvement initiatives using data‑driven methodologies.
- Proficiency in organizational change management using structured change management methodologies.
- Knowledge of government acquisition regulations and cybersecurity best practices.
