Job Description:
Essential Job Functions:Maintain the DB2 subsystem procs and JCLExecution of backups of DB2 system catalog and directory files with reorgsBasic change management functions: ticketing, opening and closing changes, etc.Performing Data Security audits (collecting evidence of compliance, correcting non-compliances fount in an audit)Install, upgrade DB2 subsystems.Installation of new DB2 subsystems and related sub products Upgrades of existing DB2 subsystems and related sub productsApplication of preventative/corrective maintenance PTF's and HIPER PTF's on test and production system software librariesEnforcement of DB2 security and audit conformance Perform Disaster Recovery drill exercisesUnderstand basic parameters contained in DSNZPARM and their usageRegular system tuning, and review of memory/resource consumption based on daily performance reporting and on-line monitoringInterface with Change Support, and vendor software support as necessary to resolve system software problems or issuesWork with Automation to provide automation responding to system situations requiring intervention Tune and manage DB2 bufferpool settingsDevelop complex DB2 configurations needed for SYSPLEX environments and Data Sharing environments Lead complex projects including client driven projects and internal projects (upgrade projects, etc) deliverables (collectively, the “Deliverables”):MQ Skills & responsibilities:
Maintain the MQSeries subsystem procs and JCLBackup of MQSeries system componentsBasic change management functions: ticketing, opening and closing changes, etc.Performing Data Security audits (collecting evidence of compliance, correcting noncompliances fount in an audit)Creation/installation of new MQSeries subsystems and related sub productsUpgrades of existing MQSeries subsystems and related sub productsDefine and configure MQ Pageset, point the storage class to the Pageset, Turn over storage class name to the Account MQ Admin, allocate channels, define buffer pools, control security rules for processesApplication of preventative/corrective maintenance PTF's and HIPER PTF's on test and production system software librariesEnforcement of MQSeries security and audit conformanceInstallation of Network connectivity on Mainframe sideSet up for Disaster recovery of pagesets, logs, bootstrap datasets and related MQSeries and sub product system software componentsPerform Disaster Recovery drill exercisesSupport of MQSeries Distributed Queue ManagementWork Environment
This position combines remote work with in-office days at our Toronto location.
