Job Title: Senior Technical Consultant
Department: Operations – PMO
Reports To: Raven Tek Program Manager
Location: Remote
Schedule: Monday – Friday
Hours: Full-time, 40-hours/week
FLSA Status: Salary, exempt
Clearance: Secret
Position SummaryThe Senior Technical Consultant is responsible for delivering advanced technical services that support mission and customer initiatives. This position provides senior-level technical expertise across a broad range of project types, strengthens Raven Tek’s technical bench, and plays a key role in customer engagement, proposal development, and solution architecture. The Senior Technical Consultant works closely with project teams and clients to ensure high-quality outcomes and serves as a technical leader across assigned engagements.
The performance of this position is key to Raven Tek's performance on our contracts, and therefore Raven Tek's mission to support our customers.
- Deliver senior-level hands‑on technical services.
- Lead troubleshooting, configuration, and implementation efforts in customer environments.
- Collaborate with Project Managers, engineers, and clients to ensure successful outcomes.
- Maintain and expand advanced technical skills relevant to Raven Tek’s core service offerings.
- Complete internal training, certifications, and product knowledge‑building aligned with Raven Tek offerings (e.g., Armis, Splunk, Riverbed).
- Contribute to solution development, technical playbooks, and reusable processes.
- Support and sometimes lead scoping sessions, technical assessments, and discovery calls.
- Provide senior‑level technical input for proposals, ROM estimates, and solution designs.
- Support POCs, demos, and virtual lab maintenance as needed.
- Enter actual time worked, once complete, at the end of the day, or no later than 10:00 a.m. the following workday, and submit timesheets at the end of each pay period.
- Submit Monthly Status Reports on a regular basis, as required.
- Monitor Raven Tek email on a regular basis and respond accordingly.
- Complete required compliance training as assigned.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Expert troubleshooting and technical problem‑solving skills.
- Ability to independently support multiple concurrent tasks with minimal oversight.
- Strong customer‑facing communication and presentation skills.
- Ability to rapidly learn and adopt new technologies and tools.
- Bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Science, Engineering, or related field; or eight years of progressive technical experience in lieu of a degree.
- Senior‑level experience working in consulting, federal contracting, or managed services.
- CompTIA Network+, Security+, CySA+, CASP+ preferred.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain Secret level clearance.
Employee will primarily work remotely in a professional home office environment with standard computer and communications equipment. Typical indoor and computer related noise level, and typical office, paper, and equipment related dust. Exposure to video display terminals occurs on a regular basis.
Physical DemandsTo successfully perform the essential functions of the job, the employee needs to be able to sit at a workstation for extended periods; use hand(s) to handle or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; talk and hear; see to read printed materials and computer screens; mobility to work in a typical office setting. Ability to work on desktop or laptop computer for extended periods of time reading, reviewing/analyzing information, and may be required to provide recommendations, summaries and/or reports in written format.
Must be able to effectively communicate with others verbally and in writing. Employee must be able to lift and/or move moderate amounts of weight, typically up to 20 pounds. Regular and predictable attendance is essential.
