JOB SUMMARYReporting to the Cloud & Infrastructure Service Manager, the Senior Managed Services Engineer will troubleshoot, analyze, and maintain the IT infrastructure of client environments. The role identifies, researches, and resolves technical problems, documents client networks and systems, and mentors junior engineers. The engineer will be a key contributor to all Managed Services solutions.
SUMMARY OF ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS- Design, implement, and manage Microsoft and Azure based environments.
- Provide server operating system support and troubleshooting.
- Configure and troubleshoot email systems such as Microsoft Exchange and Microsoft 365.
- Develop and maintain Power Shell scripts for automation of system tasks and management of Microsoft environments.
- Collaborate with other IT team members and departments to support business initiatives and projects.
- Provide technical support and assistance, including hardware and software troubleshooting.
- Document system configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting steps.
- Act as escalation point for Level 1 and Level 2 Managed Services team members to deliver technical outcomes via Service Requests or Incident Response.
- Participate in after‑hours migrations, upgrades, troubleshooting, and/or on‑call availability as needed to support client needs.
- Identify, diagnose, and resolve client problems in a timely fashion.
- Assist with reporting and recommendations for Managed Services clients.
- Interface with third‑party vendors as liaison between client and vendor.
- Provide post‑implementation support for Trace3 Professional Services teams.
- Build client relationships through exceptional customer service.
- Stay current with industry trends, new Microsoft and Azure technologies, and best practices for system administration.
- Maintain specialization roles as required by Trace

- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent work experience).
- Minimum of 7 years of experience in Microsoft systems administration or engineering role.
- Strong expertise in Windows Server operating systems (2019, 2022, and 2025).
- Proficiency in Power Shell scripting for automation and system management.
- Knowledge of virtualization technologies (Hyper‑V, VMware, Nutanix) and storage solutions.
- Familiarity with backup and disaster recovery solutions (e.g., Veeam, Azure Site Recovery).
- Excellent analytical and problem‑solving skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast‑paced environment.

Microsoft Certified:
Windows Server (e.g., MCSA, MCSE)
The role involves light physical exertion with long periods of sitting, occasional standing, walking, and occasional lifting/moving of items up to 50 pounds. Hearing and speech communication in person and over the telephone are essential. Visual acuity is required for reading printed materials and a computer screen. Frequent travel by air or car may be required.
