JOB TITLE: Platform Architect

The project supports USCIS's Office of Information Technology by delivering enterprise IT architecture, engineering, and solution development services. The team partners across OIT to design, implement, and optimize leading-edge technologies-including cloud, network, Zero Trust architecture, automation, and AI/ML-using agile and Dev Ops practices. The work enables USCIS to modernize IT systems, enhance mission delivery, and support major enterprise initiatives such as digitization, cloud migration, and software-defined networking.

The Platform Architect will be responsible for designing and implementing enterprise platform architectures that ensure scalability, reliability, and high performance in multi-cloud environments. This role requires expertise in cloud platform architecture, cloud service management, and cost optimization, with the ability to integrate security and hybrid cloud strategies into enterprise platform solutions.

• Architect and design cloud platform solutions across hybrid and multi-cloud environments.
• Manage cloud services and ensure high-performance, reliable, and scalable platform operations.
• Develop and implement strategies for platform security, cost optimization, and hybrid cloud integration.
• Collaborate with stakeholders and engineering teams to align platform architecture with enterprise objectives.
• Define and enforce platform architecture standards, policies, and best practices.
• Monitor platform performance, identify improvement opportunities, and implement optimizations.
• Provide guidance and oversight for cloud platform deployments and migrations.
• Maintain documentation for platform architecture, operational procedures, and design decisions.

REQUIRED:

• 7-10+ years of experience in cloud platform architecture, platform administration, or related roles.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or related field strongly preferred;
  Advanced degree preferred.
• Cloud platform architecture and cloud service management experience.
• Hybrid and multi-cloud strategies experience.
• Cloud security and compliance experience.
• Cost management and optimization for cloud platforms experience.
• Strong leadership, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Ability to design scalable, reliable, and high-performance platform solutions.
• Must be eligible to obtain DHS Suitability clearance.

DESIRED:

• Experience with cloud-native cost optimization tools and practices.
• Deep understanding of hybrid cloud deployment models and platform security frameworks.

This position is fully remote. Candidates must have a dedicated workspace, reliable internet connectivity, and the ability to participate in virtual meetings and collaborate effectively with distributed teams.
