Overview
Platform Architect - Remote role at AMERICAN SYSTEMS. Join a dynamic, collaborative environment dedicated to innovation and customer success.
Responsibilities- Own the technical architecture for production platform and CI segregated instance.
- Design and validate integration patterns for third‑party system connections.
- Lead annual platform upgrade planning and execution (currently Vancouver → Xanadu).
- Conduct Service Now health assessments and remediation planning (maintain 91+ score).
- Develop data architecture models based on Service Now best practices.
- Ensure CMDB accuracy and discovery dependency mapping.
- Collaborate with customer Enterprise Architecture on cloud security packages.
- Provide technical oversight for citizen development initiatives.
- Design solutions that maximize out‑of‑the‑box (OOB) functionality.
- Review and approve all custom code and configurations for platform integrity.
- Must pass Federal Background Investigation (MBI) / Moderate Risk Level Tier 2, Public Trust required.
- Must be U.S. Citizen or Lawful Permanent Resident with a minimum of 3 consecutive years of U.S. residency from date of legal entry.
- Must pass federal tax compliance screening.
- Minimum 7 years Service Now/Enterprise Service Management architecture experience.
- Minimum 2 years in Federal government environments.
- Must have verifiable recent (within past 3 years) hands‑on experience delivering enterprise service management solutions in the IRS operational environment or an equivalent federal environment of comparable scale, governance, and compliance complexity.
- Prior ownership of multi‑module Service Now architectures maintained at n‑2 currency.
- Proven experience with IT Operations Management (ITOM) implementations and Network Operations Center (NOC) environments.
- Service Now ITOM (Discovery, Service Mapping, Event Management).
- CSDM/CMDB strategy and implementation.
- Integration architecture patterns (REST, SOAP, MID Servers).
- Platform upgrade strategy and execution.
- Performance optimization and availability management.
- Security architecture (RBAC, encryption, data segregation).
- Required Certification:
Service Now Certified Technical Architect (CTA).
