But our focus never changes: improve the lives of all Coloradans through innovation and collaboration. We’re building one of the nation’s leading government IT organizations by reimagining how we support agencies, building first‑of‑their‑kind applications, and creating an inclusive, collaborative culture.

Role Overview

In this role, you will be responsible for testing, traceability, and automation as part of a dynamic team that ensures high quality government applications.

Responsibilities
  • Identify and document test data requirements.
  • Create and maintain requirements traceability matrices.
  • Coordinate with Project Managers and Business Analysts throughout the testing process to ensure correct test and defect status is relayed.
  • Assist the team with the creation and execution of test plans, test cases, and test scenarios.
  • Know and understand what types of automation are useful for different stages of development.
Minimum Qualifications
  • 3 years of relevant experience with functional system test cases, data, or test suites, standard defect management tools and processes, application development, or regular client‑side use of relevant applications with demonstrated understanding of program functionality.
  • Experience applying digital accessibility regulations and standards (e.g., WCAG 2.1) to business processes, content, tools, and/or documents, with the ability to provide specific examples of accessibility improvements made.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience analyzing system requirements to identify, document, and execute important test cases for moderately to majorly complex projects.
  • Demonstrated ability to create and update automated scripts for both existing and new functionality.
  • Specialized, hands‑on experience implementing and utilizing Automate Pro for Service Hub to modernize and accelerate quality assurance cycles.
  • Proficiency in executing functional, regression, performance, and security test cases.
  • Experience conducting API testing with industry‑standard tools (e.g., Insomnia).
  • Proven ability to construct complex workflow automation encompassing various pathways and modules within an application.
  • Experience conducting load/performance testing using industry‑standard tools like JMeter.
  • Experience following formal defect management processes, including documenting resolutions and determining defect severity and priority.
Conditions of Employment

OIT employees must comply with any screening procedures in place at state entity locations where they might be required to perform work. A pre‑employment background check will be conducted as part of the selection process. Positions supporting some agencies such as the Department of Corrections and the Department of Public Safety will also require a pre‑employment drug test. This position may require travel within the specified geographic area, and to locations across the state as needed.
