• Scale and lead a global engineering organization of 8 high‑performing teams (55+ engineers); mentor Engineering Team Leads and Software Engineers while ensuring high quality delivery.
• Act as the hands‑on technical authority for the EOR platform, driving mission‑critical system design, deep architectural reviews, and personal resolution of P0 production incidents.
• Maintain a world‑class engineering bar, cultivating a culture of high accountability, rapid iteration, and candid feedback.
• Partner with Product and Design to oversee the full lifecycle of the EOR experience, from onboarding to contract management and high‑stakes special projects.
• Champion AI‑assisted engineering tools (Git Hub Copilot, Cursor, etc.) and cloud‑native environments to accelerate velocity and code quality.
• Ensure reliability and security of complex backend systems handling sensitive legal and financial data across multiple jurisdictions.

• Expert in distributed systems and data integrity, with elite backend expertise (Node.js/Postgre
  
  SQL) and a proven track record at scale.
• Hands‑on debugging, cloud‑native infrastructure (AWS), and rapid production issue resolution skills.
• Early adopter of AI‑augmented engineering, leveraging cloud code environments to streamline the development‑to‑deployment pipeline.
• Proven experience managing teams of teams (50+ headcount), optimizing structure, communication, and delivery across multiple work streams.

• You master ambiguity, turning high‑impact greenfield projects into scalable, well‑engineered products.
• You value radically candid feedback and are comfortable with difficult performance conversations.
• You have 10+ years of experience, especially in a high‑growth SaaS environment, managing managers and maintaining a hands‑on technical approach.
• You are a backend specialist who thrives on logic, data integrity, and complex workflows.
• You measure success by platform stability, compliance, and security, directly impacting Deel’s EOR business health.
