SAP Basis Engineer

Proclinical is seeking a skilled and proactive SAP Basis Engineer to join our team in a fully remote capacity. In this role, you will be responsible for the administration, configuration, and optimization of SAP systems to ensure their performance, security, and reliability. You will collaborate with cross‑functional teams, support strategic initiatives, and drive system improvements to align IT systems with business needs.

This position is ideal for someone who thrives in an independent work environment while maintaining strong communication and collaboration.

• Administer and maintain SAP systems, including S-4
  
  HANA, ECC, BW, Solution Manager, and associated components.
• Perform installations, upgrades, patches, and migrations of SAP systems in both on‑premise and cloud environments (e.g., Azure).
• Monitor system performance, troubleshoot critical incidents, and implement performance tuning to ensure stability and reliability.
• Support disaster recovery and backup procedures for SAP landscapes.
• Collaborate with development, functional, and infrastructure teams to support system enhancements, new implementations, and ongoing maintenance.
• Review and respond to detailed business requirements to ensure alignment with ICT capabilities.
• Plan and coordinate system upgrades and projects.
• Drive continuous improvement by identifying and implementing system optimizations and automation opportunities.
• Prepare and maintain technical documentation for SAP systems and processes.
• Ensure compliance with standards, policies, and security best practices.
• Conduct technology scouting, run proof of concepts, and propose new solutions.
• Provide mentorship and technical guidance to junior team members as needed.

• Proficiency in SAP Basis administration with hands‑on experience in S-4
  
  HANA, ECC, and SAP BW.
• Experience with SAP migrations and upgrades, including cloud environments (e.g., Azure).
• Expertise in database administration (HANA, Oracle, or SQL Server).
• Strong understanding of SAP security concepts and role‑based access control.
• Familiarity with system monitoring tools such as SAP Solution Manager and Early Watch Alerts.
• Excellent analytical and troubleshooting skills with attention to detail.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills, especially in remote work settings.
• Business‑level proficiency in English.

• Experience with Agile methodologies.
• Familiarity with the ITIL framework and processes.
• Certification in SAP Basis or HANA administration is a plus.
