AS/400 consultant (Developer and Admin experience)

1-year remote contract role, Manufacturing is a strong plus

Must be able to work without sponsorship

The IBM iSeries Programmer will modernize the Company’s GUI interfacing, design, code, test, debug, implement, and maintain software applications. He/she confirms project requirements by reviewing the program objective, input data, and output requirements with the analyst, supervisor, and client. Arranges project requirements in programming sequence by analyzing requirements, preparing a workflow chart and diagram using knowledge of computer capabilities, subject matter, programming language, and logic.

Encodes project requirements by converting workflow information into a computer language. Programs the computer by entering coded information.

• Knowledge of IBM iSeries / AS400 and related programming skills
• Programming skills to include: RPGII, RPGIII, RPGIV, RPGLE, RPG FREE
• Will also be proficient in: CL - OCL, SQLRPGLE, IFS
• AS400 is the backbone of the system (Financials, Shop Floor, Budget, Order Tracking)
• The candidate will get into existing programs and map out for users. Changing configurations. Knowledge of the OS.
• Utility player. Self-starter. Strong documentation experience.
• Modernization of applications/databases
• Ability to work with all levels of the organization and take ownership of projects from start to finish
• Knowledge of manufacturing processes
• Five (5) years IBM iSeries (AS400 - iSeries) RPG programming experience
