Research Project Manager – Multi-Country Research Study (Gender-Based Violence)
Join Evidence Based Solutions to manage a large-scale research study on Gender-Based Violence (GBV) across 31 countries. This remote contract position lasts one year and requires strong research operations, remote team management, multi-country project experience, and Agile project management proficiency.
Key Responsibilities- Coordinate and manage day‑to‑day project activities across 31 countries, ensuring alignment with approved work plans, timelines, and study protocols.
- Track progress of ethics applications and amendment submissions.
- Monitor and coordinate data collection activities, including deployment of field teams and tracking progress towards data collection targets.
- Track progress towards country report generation goals.
- Organize and facilitate recurring project meetings (global, regional, and country‑level), including agenda setting, documentation, and follow‑up on action items.
- Support in‑country teams in planning and completing data collection activities, ensuring adherence to timelines, protocols, and quality standards.
- Maintain clear and up‑to‑date project documentation, including work plans, trackers, risk logs, and decision registers.
- Leverage SharePoint to communicate and monitor project‑related information.
- Track project progress against milestones and deliverables, providing regular status updates to the Head of Operations and other stakeholders.
- Maintain dashboards or reporting tools that provide clear visibility into country‑level progress, risks, and dependencies.
- Proactively identify delays, bottlenecks, risks, and implementation challenges across countries and escalated issues in a timely and structured manner.
- Flag ethical, safeguarding, operational, or capacity concerns that could impact project delivery or data quality.
- Serve as a central coordination point between in‑country teams, technical experts, operations, and leadership to align research objectives, operational realities, and donor or stakeholder expectations.
- Apply Agile PM principles (sprint planning, stand‑ups, retrospectives, backlog tracking) to research operations, continuously improving workflows, communication, and delivery processes.
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (public health, social sciences, international development, project management). Master’s degree preferred.
- 5+ years of experience managing research or implementation projects, preferably in global health, social research, or international development.
- Demonstrated experience supporting multi‑country or multinational projects across low‑ and middle‑income countries.
- Strong understanding of research project life cycles, including data collection coordination and field operations.
- Proven experience using Agile project management methodologies in complex, fast‑moving environments.
- Excellent organizational, communication, and stakeholder‑management skills.
- High level of professionalism, discretion, and sensitivity when working on Gender‑Based Violence or other sensitive research.
- Prior experience working on GBV, VAWG, or safeguarding‑related research.
- Active project management certification required (PMP®, PMI‑ACP®, Certified Scrum Master®, SAFe®).
- Familiarity with donor‑funded research projects and reporting requirements.
- Experience coordinating remote, multilingual, and culturally diverse teams.
- Strong problem‑solving skills and comfort operating in ambiguity.
- Proficiency with Microsoft 365 applications, especially SharePoint and Planner.
- Proficiency with project management and collaboration tools (Jira, Asana, Smartsheet, , MS Teams, Google Workspace).
