Mac Gregor Black is currently partnering with a leading hardware business in the search for a Marketplace Manager. This is a permanent hybrid/remote position based in the midlands.

We are looking for a Marketplace Manager to take responsibility for the trading performance of our partner’s product across our websites and marketplaces. This role plays a key part in delivering revenue, margin, and stock targets, ensuring our sites are always set up to win through best‑class merchandising, promotions, and conversion optimisation.

• Own daily, weekly, and monthly trading performance across third‑party marketplaces in the UK & Ireland, delivering against revenue, margin, conversion, and sell‑through targets.
• Build, maintain, and execute a marketplace trading calendar aligned to seasonal moments, platform‑led events, product launches, and promotional cycles.
• Monitor, forecast, and react to marketplace performance, implementing rapid commercial actions to maximise visibility, sales velocity, and profitability.
• Optimise product listings across marketplaces, including titles, descriptions, imagery, attributes, and enhanced content, to improve search ranking and conversion.
• Lead marketplace search optimisation by managing keywords, taxonomy alignment, and platform‑specific ranking levers.
• Plan and execute marketplace promotions, deals, and markdowns in collaboration with Buying and Merchandising teams, ensuring margin control and price consistency.
• Coordinate, brief, and QA marketplace content and assets in line with brand guidelines and individual platform requirements.
• Trade bestsellers, hero lines, and new launches while managing long‑tail SKUs, ensuring stock is focused on high‑performing products with clear exit strategies for underperformers.
• Manage stock availability, replenishment signals, and platform‑specific availability rules to minimise lost sales and suppression risks.
• Own marketplace compliance, ensuring listings meet platform policies, content standards, and operational SLAs.
• Track and optimise core marketplace KPIs including traffic, conversion rate, AOV, ROAS, buy box win rate, availability, sell‑through, returns, and content health metrics.
• Deliver clear weekly and monthly marketplace performance reports with actionable insights, risks, and growth opportunities.
• Work cross‑functionally with Digital Marketing, Buying, Supply Chain, Operations, and Customer Care to optimise marketplace performance and customer experience.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with marketplace partners and account managers to unlock visibility, beta opportunities, and commercial advantages.

• Minimum 1 year experience in e‑commerce trading, online merchandising, or digital commercial roles.
• Proven ability to drive sales and margin growth through onsite trading and conversion rate optimisation.
• Hands‑on experience with e‑commerce platforms such as Shopify / Shopify Plus, Big Commerce, or similar.
• Experience trading on online marketplaces such as Amazon, B&Q, Tesco, Shein, or similar.
• Strong understanding of onsite merchandising tools, onsite search, and analytics platforms including GA4.
• Experience using A/B testing tools and applying a test‑and‑learn mindset.
• Solid understanding of basic SEO for e‑commerce and paid traffic performance drivers.
• Strong numerical and analytical skills with the ability to turn data into clear commercial actions.
• High attention to detail with strong execution and QA standards.
• Commercially driven, organised, proactive, and comfortable working to fast‑paced weekly trading rhythms.
