Soar Tech has decades of experience in AI research, including major DARPA autonomy programs, and develops explainable, adaptive technologies that enhance human judgment and accelerate mission readiness.
We are seeking a detail-oriented Unity Game Tester to support the testing and quality assurance of interactive multimedia applications developed in Unity. This role focuses on identifying defects, validating user interactions, and ensuring a high-quality user experience across training, simulation, and interactive content. The ideal candidate has hands-on experience testing Unity applications and a strong understanding of interactive systems, user flows, and multimedia behavior.
Dutiesand Responsibilities
- Execute functional, regression, usability, and exploratory testing on Unity-based applications.
- Identify, document, track, and verify defects using established bug-tracking tools.
- Test interactive multimedia elements including UI, animations, audio, video, and user input systems.
- Validate application behavior across target platforms (PC, mobile, web, XR, as applicable).
- Collaborate with Unity developers, designers, and product stakeholders to reproduce and resolve issues.
- Review requirements and design documentation to ensure test coverage and traceability.
- Verify fixes and perform regression testing prior to releases.
- Provide clear, actionable feedback to improve usability, performance, and overall user experience.
- Support test plan development and contribute to QA best practices and documentation.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- 1–3+ years of experience testing Unity games or interactive applications.
- Familiarity with Unity workflows, builds, and common engine behaviors.
- Strong understanding of interactive multimedia elements (UI, animation, audio, video).
- Experience writing clear bug reports with steps to reproduce, expected results, and evidence.
- High attention to detail and strong analytical/problem-solving skills.
- Ability to communicate effectively with technical and non-technical team members.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a Department of Defense (DOD) Security Clearance.
- Experience testing training, simulation, or serious games.
- Familiarity with automated testing tools or scripting (C#, Python, or test frameworks).
- Knowledge of usability testing and accessibility considerations.
- Experience working in Agile or iterative development environments.
- Exposure to government, defense, or enterprise software projects.
- Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
Some positions will require access to U.S. National Security information. Positions that require this access will be required to receive and maintain a U.S. government personnel security clearance (PCL). In order to qualify for this position, the candidate must be a U.S. citizen and either currently possess this National Security eligibility or be able to complete the investigation application process with a favorable determination and maintain that eligibility throughout their employment.
