Job Summary

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented GIS Technical Solutions Engineer to join our team. In this entry-level role, you will support the design, implementation, and delivery of GIS-based solutions for our clients. You will work closely with senior engineers, analysts, and stakeholders to understand business requirements, configure technical solutions, and ensure successful deployments of GIS applications and data systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Reviewing and manipulation of GIS data (Vehicle Crash Records, Linear Referencing System (LRS), Traffic Segments & Intersections, MIRE, etc.)
  • Setting up automated data processes through data connections (API’s & SQL) and validation of the data update process.
  • Set up Numetric Applications to support prospective, new and current clients, including the following:
    • Joining tables to build datasets within the Numetric platform
    • Configuring software settings
    • Data transformations
  • Supporting internal teams with technical requests and requirements.
  • QA and documentation of bugs found and reported by customers.
  • Coordinating issue resolution with the engineering team.
  • Becoming an expert in Numetric products and apps.
  • Creating and improving our Knowledge Base content, both internally and externally.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Geography, Geospatial Sciences, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Foundational knowledge of GIS software (e.g., ArcGIS, QGIS) and spatial data concepts.
  • Familiarity with data formats such as shape files, GeoJSON, KML, and spatial databases (e.g., PostGIS, SQL Server with spatial extensions).
  • Some exposure to scripting or programming (e.g., Python, SQL, JavaScript) is a plus.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
  • 1+ years of experience in SQL.
  • 1+ years of experience manipulating large datasets with Python and/or R.
  • 2+ years experience working in a technical support or technical project management role.
  • Experience/interest with ArcGIS or other GIS software strongly preferred, but not required.
  • Business Intelligence software experience (Tableau, Power

    BI, etc.) strongly preferred, but not required.
  • Internship or academic project experience in GIS or a technical role.
  • Experience with web mapping platforms, APIs, or data visualization tools (e.g., Leaflet, Mapbox, ArcGIS Online).
  • Understanding of coordinate systems, projections, and geocoding.
  • Exposure to cloud services or GIS platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Esri Enterprise).
