Join Qanooni as a Senior Data Engineer and play a pivotal role in shaping the data infrastructure that will redefine the legal and professional services landscape. You will tackle the challenge of transforming unstructured data into actionable intelligence, empowering professionals to work smarter and faster. Your efforts will directly support our AI-driven platform that integrates seamlessly with Microsoft 365, SharePoint, and leading Document Management Systems (DMS).
In this critical phase of our startup, we are building the foundational data layer necessary for our retrieval, drafting, and research systems. This role matters because it sets the stage for the scalability and efficiency of our innovative product, making your contributions vital to our success.

- Design and implement robust ingestion pipelines connecting Outlook, SharePoint, and various DMSs.
- Convert unstructured documents, such as agreements and emails, into structured entities to support Review, Draft, and Research workflows.
- Build and optimize search and retrieval systems using embeddings, metadata stores, and hybrid search techniques to enhance AI capabilities.
- Develop Python‑based APIs and connectors to ensure seamless integration of internal and external data systems.
- Continuously improve the performance of data pipelines in terms of latency, reliability, and scalability.
- Work collaboratively with AI and product engineers to enable effective data access for model training and runtime operations.
- Experience: 6–10 years in Data Engineering, Backend Engineering, or Data Architecture.
- Python Expertise: Proficiency in Python, including frameworks like FastAPI and PySpark.
- ETL & Orchestration: Experience with tools such as Airflow or dbt.
- Data Systems: Strong skills in Postgre
SQL and experience with Elasticsearch or vector stores. - APIs & Integrations: Familiarity with enterprise platforms like Microsoft Graph and SharePoint.
- Cloud Infrastructure: Understanding of cloud deployment, preferably Azure.
- NLP
Experience:
Exposure to text extraction and NLP frameworks like spaCy or Hugging Face. - Soft Skills: A hands‑on builder with a pragmatic approach and a systems thinking mindset.
