Your Opportunity
BDO is looking for a Service Now Senior Developer to join our growing team, with the ability to work from anywhere in Canada. This is a new position in the team.
The Senior Service Now Developer is responsible for building, configuring, and extending the Service Now platform across both internal and client engagements, delivering scalable, secure, and high-quality solutions aligned to architectural standards and business requirements. You will provide hands-on technical execution for Service Now initiatives including ITSM and CSM implementations, platform modernizations, and legacy tool transitions (e.g., Sys Aid to Service Now), as well as the enablement of automation and AI-driven capabilities to improve operational efficiency and service experience.
Working under the guidance of the Solution Architect, the Senior Developer ensures solutions are upgrade-safe, maintainable, and production-ready, while supporting continuous improvement and managed services operations across client environments. To be successful, you will be responsible for:
Configure and extend Service Now ITSM and CSM modules, including workflows, business rules, UI policies, client/server scripts, and catalog items.
Build and maintain automation using Flow Designer and related tools.
Support Virtual Agent and self-service experiences as part of automation and deflection strategies.
Develop integrations using REST/SOAP APIs and Integration Hub where required.
Ensure configurations and customizations align with Service Now technical standards and architectural guidance.
Support platform upgrade readiness by minimizing technical debt and participating in regression testing.
Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues across the platform.
Document technical designs and configurations for long-term maintainability.
Collaborate closely with Functional Consultants, QA, and the Solution Architect throughout the delivery lifecycle.
Participate in sprint planning, backlog grooming, and solution design discussions.
Support UAT, deployment activities, and early-life support post go-live.
Identify opportunities to automate manual processes and improve operational efficiency.
Stay current with Service Now releases and emerging platform capabilities, including AI-driven features.
Contribute to reusable technical components and accelerators for BDO’s Service Now practice.

Your Experience and Education
5+ years of hands-on Service Now development experience.
Strong experience configuring Service Now ITSM; experience with CSM strongly preferred.
Proficiency in JavaScript and Service Now scripting concepts.
Experience with Flow Designer, Integration Hub, and Service Now data models.
Solid understanding of Service Now best practices, security, and upgrade-safe development
Experience supporting platform migrations or large-scale implementations.
Exposure to AI-enabled Service Now features (Virtual Agent, Predictive Intelligence).
Service Now certifications:
Certified System Administrator (CSA)
Certified Implementation Specialist (ITSM and/or CSM)
The expected range of compensation for this role is $84,000 - $128,000 annually.
