Why Action for Children?

Working here is more than a job. Everyone in the Action for Children family is passionate about protecting and supporting children. It is the sense of purpose that drives us every single day. Because we know that, when we work together, we can make a huge difference to bring lasting improvements to vulnerable children's lives.

A bit about the role

We are seeking a Salesforce Project Manager to deliver a new Children’s Recording System and decommission an end‑of‑life platform (on‑prem). You will oversee end‑to‑end delivery, ensuring the new system meets operational needs and improves outcomes for children and families.

This role will be within the Technology Department, working with a cross‑organisational Project Team to deliver this solution.

This is a fully remote role, mostly working with teams of people who are also remotely based. There may be some travel required as part of this role for either departmental needs or to successfully deliver the project. It is essential though that you are happy and able to work from home. The Technology department meets in Watford & Central London, so travel to these locations will be needed on a semi‑frequent basis.

Technology Project delivery within the Third Sector, or regional government is essential for this role and must be clearly demonstrated in your covering letter and CV.

How you'll help to create brighter futures
  • Delivery of full project lifecycle from planning to implementation, to time, cost and quality parameters, including all relevant products and timescales for their delivery.
  • Ability to set up and lead project governance boards and working groups.
  • Engage, direct and support stakeholder involvement to participate and to enable achievement of project deliverables.
  • Engage and work with Business Change and Business Analysts to ensure the realisation of benefits during the project lifecycle.

  • Manage project closure and handover to business as usual in a controlled way.
  • Produce timely and relevant reports for the key stakeholders and the project steering group.
  • Effectively manage project risks, issues, and dependencies using appropriate project management techniques that adhere to Prince2 project management methodology.
  • Professional representation of the department and in so doing, support the process of change to key stakeholders.
  • Use of our Project Management Software to control the project throughout its life cycle. We use Mission Control, if you have experience of this software that would be beneficial.
