Seeking an experienced Oracle Database Administrator to join a program supporting Department of Defense financial management processes and systems. In this role you will support database activities in maintaining multiple Oracle and Postgre
SQL databases across both unclassified and classified environments, including CaaS, Dev Ops, Zero Trust, and custom software development and implementation efforts. You will play a key role in supporting a new data tagging effort and contribute immediately in a dynamic, fast‑paced, high‑visibility environment. The position requires strong analytical and problem‑solving skills, attention to detail, excellent communication, and experience interfacing directly with senior government staff.
Work location is hybrid with onsite support at the client site at least 2 days a week and remote work when not onsite in the Washington DC commute area.
Required:
- U.S. citizenship and ability to obtain and/or maintain a Department of Defense Secret security clearance
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field or equivalent work experience
- 4+ years experience administering Oracle databases
- 4+ years SDLC experience (system requirements definition, development, testing, or training)
- 2+ years experience administering Oracle Web Logic/Fusion Middleware
- Familiarity with Postgre
SQL databases - Familiarity with Cloud database instances
- 8570 IAT Level II certification (e.g., Security+ CE)
- Direct functional experience with DoD business systems
Desired:
- Experience administering DoD financial databases
- Experience with Dev Ops platforms (Azure Dev Ops, Git Lab, Atlassian Suite, Digital.ai)
- Experience with Qlik Sense business analytics tools (Qlik, Tableau, Power
BI)
- Support day‑to‑day Oracle and Postgre
SQL DBA activities and special projects including application rehosting migrations. - Assist in managing and maintaining multiple Oracle and Postgre
SQL database instances. - Perform installation and upgrade of applications, databases, and tools—including patching of technology stack and databases.
- Apply database and application performance‑tuning techniques to maintain optimal performance across environments.
- Support and maintain backup and recovery activities utilizing Oracle RMAN.
- Recommend improvements to processes and procedures to increase productivity, reduce maintenance cycles, and improve quality delivery.
- Provide on‑call support to production environments when required, including some weekend support.
- Support and maintain password resets for server and database accounts.
- Work cooperatively with functional and technical staff to meet timelines and deliverables.
