About the RoleSharePoint Specialist – a hybrid remote position based in the Washington, D.C., Maryland, Virginia (DMV) area, some onsite at the customer’s location. This role requires a federal contract award and supports a federal government customer with development, administration, and enhancement of SharePoint-based solutions aligned with agency operations, security, and compliance.
Responsibilities- Design, develop, and maintain custom SharePoint sites, pages, web parts, and workflows to meet program office needs.
- Support SharePoint Online (M365) and SharePoint 2016/2019 environments, ensuring cross‑platform consistency and availability.
- Develop and manage Power Automate (Flow), Power Apps, and integrations with customer business systems and data sources.
- Administer SharePoint permissions, site provisioning, and governance in accordance with customer IT security policies.
- Create dashboards and interactive reporting tools using Power BI or embedded SharePoint analytics to support operational decision‑making.
- Maintain document libraries, metadata tagging, version control, and retention policies that align with records‑management protocols.
- Collaborate with program staff to gather requirements, develop wireframes/mockups, and ensure solutions meet operational, security, and usability standards.
- Conduct training and develop documentation to promote user adoption and SharePoint best practices.
- Troubleshoot and resolve SharePoint‑related performance, access, and configuration issues.
- Support SharePoint security posture by collaborating with ISSOs to implement STIG compliance and ATO documentation as needed.
- 3‑5 years of experience in SharePoint Online or SharePoint Server 2019 environments, preferably supporting the federal government or federal programs/DOD.
- Expertise in SharePoint Online (O365 GCC High) and Microsoft Power Platform (Power Automate, Power Apps).
- Proficient in creating custom lists/libraries, metadata/taxonomy, version control, and permission configuration using RBAC.
- Advanced customization and automation with SPFx, JavaScript, and Power Shell.
- Adept at developing workflow form processing, document routing, and user collaboration features.
- Experience integrating SharePoint with external data systems via REST APIs and Microsoft Teams, One Drive for Business, and third‑party plug‑ins.
- Familiarity with compliance requirements such as FIPS 140‑2, conditional access, and multifactor authentication.
- Previous experience at a federal government agency preferred.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to pass required Federal background screening/security check, including basic and expanded investigations; ability to obtain and maintain necessary government clearance and customer approval.
- Legally authorized to work in the United States without employer sponsorship now or in the future.
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Candidates must reside in the Washington, D.C., Maryland, Virginia (DMV) area.
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer. May need to lift up to 25 pounds occasionally.
The projected annual salary range for this position is $80,000–113,000. This estimate serves as a guideline only, subject to factors such as experience, education, certifications, and contract provisions.
