The Core Engineering team at Royal London is growing, and we need a Technical Delivery Manager to help transform our core engineering platform into something teams genuinely love to use. You will work in a modern engineering environment, coordinating cloud delivery, Dev Ex & SaaS services, pipeline and developer tooling.

By working closely with Engineers, product teams and Architects the Technical Delivery Manager will provide clarity, predictable cadence and momentum to how we plan, deliver, and manage team capabilities.

Your focus is to connect the dots across roadmaps and teams so that our core platform investment doesn't just create great technology, it creates real, visible impact for the people building and creating software for Royal London and our customers. You won't just track delivery, you will shape it, challenge it and make it happen.

We are looking for someone who has experience with managing multi-team workloads and dependencies.

About the role
  • Coordinate delivery across multiple teams, ensuring objectives, capacity and dependencies are clearly identified and managed
  • Provide transparent reporting on progress, delivery health and outcomes to engineering leadership and stakeholders
  • Co-ordinate and orchestrate the creation and ongoing management of the Core Engineering delivery roadmap, aligned to business priorities and engineering strategy
  • Collaborate with team leads to maintain prioritised backlogs
  • Manage risks and issues, understanding a wider risk context associated with the business and the delivery
  • Track and manage delivery commitments vs capacity across Core Engineering teams
  • Own the cross-team dependency map for all Core Engineering initiatives
  • Lead and facilitate on quarterly planning activities
About you
  • You engage credibly with engineers/architects and senior stakeholders on technical details, trade-offs and constraints.
  • You possess a strong technical background, enabling you to effectively guide technical teams and contribute to both the planning and successful delivery of complex engineering initiatives
  • You have experience leading delivery across multiple technical teams
  • Comfortable owning roadmaps, plans and dependencies in a complex, fast-moving organisations
  • Experience in running, organising and participating in quarterly planning and are comfortable translating strategy into executable commitments
  • The skills to build consensus between organisations or highly independent and diverse stakeholders
  • Proactivity and future thinking around the management and control of project costs and benefits
  • Interpersonal skills to influence and spur change, facilitate, and enhance performance within a cross - functional environment
  • Experience of leading project teams, building and maintaining the trust, confidence, commitment and collaboration of others
