Our Information Security Department is seeking a Software Engineer to play a pivotal role in safeguarding our organization’s most critical assets. You’ll work closely with technologies like Hashi Corp Vault, Last Pass, and contribute to the future of identity management with our Workload Identity Solutions team implementing SPIFFE. What You’ll Do:

• Design, develop, and deploy software and security solutions for secrets and credential management
• Lead and mentor peers on software development and Dev Sec Ops  best practices
• Work hands‑on with technologies such as AWS, Terraform, Git, Bash, Python, Go, Kubernetes, Java, Spring, and more
• Develop and maintain documentation, architecture diagrams, and roadmaps
• Communicate complex technical concepts to varied audiences
• Implement integration patterns across cloud and legacy environments
• Shape the future of passwordless authentication with SPIFFE and Entra

We Are Looking For Candidates With:

• 3+ years of software development experience, preferably in a Dev Sec Ops  environment
• Experience with at least 3 of the following: AWS, Terraform, Git & pipeline concepts, Bash, Python, Go, Puppet, Kubernetes, Java/JavaScript/Type Script, Spring, Automation Scripting
• Proven leadership or mentoring experience in software development and design
• Strong understanding of security best practices
• Excellent communication, documentation, and analytical skills
• Ability to translate complex technical details for diverse audiences
• Experience with multi‑environment integrations (cloud, mainframe, legacy)

Because work‑life balance is a priority at State Farm, compensation is based on our standard 38:45-hour work week!

• Potential starting salary range: $85,000 - $170,000 High end of the range limited to applicants with significant relevant experience
