Position: IT PMO Controller / IT PMO Project Controller
Location: City of White Plains

Duration: 12+ Months Contract

Candidates are REQUIRED to be local to the Tri-State area (NY, NJ & CT)

Fully remote positions are prohibited. Hybrid schedules are permissible with a minimum of 3 days on-site depending on assignment and can be fully on-site depending on business needs. Remote work privileges can be revoked at any time.

Job Description
  • Work Schedule:

    Monday through Friday 7.5 hour work day with .5 hour unpaid lunch. Paid for time worked only; there are no paid holidays, vacation, or sick days. Overtime is not permitted unless authorized in advance. Contingent Worker is required to badge in and out of the turnstiles located in the lobby for all daily entrances and exits.
Project Overview
  • The Project Coordinator role will support the IT PMO and manage the execution of one or more capital projects that require Information Technology services. Responsibilities will include governance and reporting and providing information for effective management decision-making. Both waterfall and agile project delivery approaches may be used.
Job Functions & Responsibilities
  • Execute the PMO Controller function
    , providing insight and guidance to the Project Management (PM) team and fellow controllers.
  • Ensure project teams meet deadlines and commitments
    , including timely communication with stakeholders.
  • Act as a bridge between the PMO and project teams
    , ensuring alignment on goals, processes, and delivery expectations.
  • Manage IT project documentation and repositories
    , including schedules, tasks, costs, risks, issues, and change requests, in accordance with IT PMO processes, procedures, and tools.
  • Monitor the project portfolio
    , producing dashboard reports and performance metrics.
  • Identify problems or potential risks that may impact project delivery
    , and work cross-functionally to resolve issues, mitigate risks, and implement corrective actions.
  • Manage projects using realistic resource plans across all phases, including transition and handover to production support.
  • Assess the impact of technology requirements and constraints on project scope and delivery.
  • Ensure the PMO applies IT solution delivery processes, procedures, and toolsets (e.g., Dev Ops, configuration management, change management) to deliver stable, scalable, and hardened solutions.
  • Manage IT project financials
    , including budgets and forecasts for external resources, hardware, software, and labor.
  • Ensure solutions and teams comply with ITIL/ITSM standards, Enterprise Architecture guidelines, Cyber Security policies, and technical standards

  • Fulfill IT PMO and IT Governance requirements
    , including PPM Pro entries, project documentation standards, project reviews, and gate approvals as defined in the IT PMO Playbook.
  • Collaborate closely with program teams, project teams, IT teams, and business stakeholders to maintain a thorough understanding of project objectives.
  • Promote effective communication among project team members and stakeholders, manage expectations, and prepare correspondence, presentations, and reports as required.
  • Follow up on correspondence and outstanding action items to ensure timely resolution.
Skills
  • Strong understanding of the software development lifecycle (SDLC) and IT project management methodologies, including Agile, Waterfall, and hybrid approaches.
  • Proven experience with IT solution delivery processes, procedures, and toolsets
    , including Dev Ops and configuration management
    .
  • Demonstrated project management expertise, including:
    • Customer relationship management
    • Sponsor and stakeholder expectation management
    • Risk and issue management
    • Change management
    • Vendor management
  • Knowledge of data governance, data management, and data quality principles.
  • Highly organized with excellent communication skills; deadline-driven, adaptable, and solution-oriented.
