the Role

The Director of Business Systems & Automation is a strategic and hands‑on leader responsible for the design, implementation, and ongoing management of ALC’s internal and external business systems. This role sets the vision for our systems strategy and also carries out the implementation and maintenance of core platforms such as Click Up, Hub Spot, Practice Ignition, Quick Books Online, and Microsoft Office.

The director will partner with leadership to translate business needs into technology solutions, champion emerging technologies (including AI), and foster a culture of continuous improvement.

  • Click Up (delivery operations, tasks, templates, workload management)
  • Hub Spot (CRM, marketing automation, sales workflows)
  • Practice Ignition (proposals, service catalogs, pricing, acceptance workflow)
  • Timely (time tracking, utilization inputs)
  • ADP (payroll)
  • Avoma (AI platform for note taking and meeting recording)
  • Quick Books Online (financial data and reporting inputs)
  • Microsoft Office (Excel, Teams, SharePoint/One Drive, Outlook)
  • Power BI (dashboards, reporting, performance visibility)
  • Other systems as needed
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
  • Own and architect ALC’s business systems ecosystem, leading the design, configuration, integration, and optimization of platforms.
  • Build, pilot, and enhance new systems while maintaining existing ones, ensuring seamless data flow and integrity.
  • Lead the deployment and ongoing maintenance of integrations, security, permissions, and role‑based access.
  • Develop SOPs, job aids, and training materials; provide hands‑on support and troubleshooting to end users.
  • Establish KPIs, dashboards, and reporting to measure system health, efficiency gains, and impact on business outcomes.
  • Identify emerging technologies and evaluate their fit; champion adoption of AI‑enabled tools.
  • Serve as the primary contact for software vendors and third‑party IT providers, negotiating contracts and overseeing deliverables.
  • Collaborate with the President to design and launch client‑facing IT and systems services that generate revenue.
  • Lead and nurture an IT committee that drives innovation and continuous improvement across the organization.
  • As the role scales, provide leadership and strategic direction for the function and team structure.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Management, or related field.
  • 8–10+ years of progressively responsible experience in business systems, applications management, process design, automation, and analytics.
  • Hands‑on experience designing, building, and supporting cross‑system workflows and integrations, especially finance‑adjacent data.
  • Proven track record with financial and enterprise business systems, including Quick Books Online, Click Up, or similar platforms.
  • Experience in a professional services environment is preferred.
  • Strong strategic thinking, problem‑solving, and communication skills; ability to influence stakeholders at all levels.
  • Click Up administration and workflow design experience is strongly preferred.
  • CITP or similar certifications are a plus but not required.

Compensation

Base Pay Range: $130,000 – $160,000 per year.

Pay is based on experience, education, and skill set, and is aligned with market data. Some positions may receive offers above the range to reflect exceptional qualifications.
