SAIC is looking for a Information Security Engineer to lead the security design, implementation and maintenance of a complex Azure based infrastructure delivery effort. The candidate will architect, design, and maintain the virtual infrastructure documentation in accordance with US Government Federal Standards and Guidelines. The candidate will use sound system engineering principles to ensure that developed solutions are documented, maintainable, efficient, reliable, understandable, secure, compliant and fault tolerant.
The successful candidate will have a background in system design, system administration, or development.
- Collaborates with customer teams to fully analyze customer requirements.
- Produce applicable design and architecture documentation for review.
- Translate requirements into a design develop a solution, guide the development phase.
- Verify and validate that the delivered system fully satisfies the requirements.
- Guide the project and mentor the team on security practices and architectural patterns.
- Design system architecture for new services using best suited cloud technologies.
- Coordinate and communicate with Client application, network, DBMS, SAP, cybersecurity and compliance teams and other SAIC project team members.
- Develop and integrate system security with client enterprise security and Zero Trust initiatives.
- Manage monthly Linux and Windows security patching activities.
- Review, track and address all vulnerabilities revealed by the monthly security scans.
Required:
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, information security, or related field (or additional years of experience in lieu of degree).
- Ability to obtain and maintain a Dept of Interior Public Trust requiring U.S. Citizenship.
- Minimum 5-10 years of experience in IT security, with 3+ years focused on cloud security.
- Experience designing and implementing secure Azure cloud solutions.
- Deep understanding of Azure security services and features (Azure Security Center, Azure Sentinel, Azure AD, etc.).
- Strong knowledge of cloud security concepts (IAM, zero trust, encryption, threat detection, etc.).
- Strong knowledge of US Government FISMA and FedRAMP requirements.
- Network security principles and best practices.
- Cloud infrastructure and platform knowledge (IaaS, PaaS).
- Strong ability to understand system data and ability to interpret and defend results across the organization, including executive management.
- Strong interpersonal communication and presentation skills with all levels of a multi-role multi-contractor delivery effort.
- Problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Project management and time management skills.

- Microsoft Certified:
Azure Security Architect Expert (preferred). - Microsoft Certified:
Azure Solutions Architect Expert. - Additional security certifications (e.g., CISSP, CISA).
- Microsoft Certified:
- Strong knowledge of Dev Sec Ops and Zero Trust Architecture.
- Software development lifecycle (SDLC) activities including Requirements Analysis, Design, and Development.
- Strong knowledge in operating system, database, web application Operations & Management.
- Familiarity with Linux (RHEL, SUSE) and Windows operating systems, security and AD.
- Familiarity with other cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, etc.).
Target salary range: $80,001 - $120,000. The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
