The Data Manager will oversee the management of price and promotion data feeds on a daily basis for one of the UK largest grocery retailers. Embedded at the retailer’s HQ, the role involves building and maintaining strong relationships with third‑party suppliers and internal stakeholders while ensuring data is managed, analysed and delivered efficiently.
Key Responsibilities- Manage large data sets from multiple sources, ensuring data is consistently processed and loaded into systems.
- Monitor the quality and accuracy of data, performing validation checks regularly.
- Track changes in retailer price and promotion policies, ensuring data reflects the latest updates.
- Resolve data queries and implement process improvements to enhance data management.
- Lead the automation of processes and continuously refine data handling workflows.
- Analyse data sets to support business insights and facilitate understanding of trends and key metrics.
- Collaborate with data providers and internal teams at the grocery retailer to enhance services and identify areas requiring additional data collection.
- Conduct ad‑hoc data analysis as needed.
- Communicate effectively with internal stakeholders and external suppliers to ensure smooth data operations.
- Proven experience working with large datasets, including the ability to analyse and interpret complex data effectively.
- Strong proficiency in SQL and Python
, with hands‑on experience working with APIs, Excel, and database management systems. - Excellent communication skills, with the ability to clearly articulate trends and insights derived from large datasets to both technical and non‑technical audiences.
- A proactive mindset with a keen ability to identify patterns, trends, and opportunities within data.
- A natural curiosity and enthusiasm for staying informed about industry topics, trends, and advancements.
Work arrangement:
